I thought it looked like a Fusion 40, but I don't know if they have the longitudinal stiffeners under the bridgedeck.

Thanks MH1097 - I still expect the fatalities were from hypothermia, given that the bodies apparently had lifejackets.
I'd guess a fusion 40 by those windows... Many of these are owner built Rego says AFN174N so 39ft...

Very sad.... Very gusty today and Stockton bite is exposed...

I’ll weigh in. Spirited 380.

Light. Floating well.

Fucked up sad.

Poor survivors.

Gawd I’ll be fascinated to find out how 3 died and how that could have been prevented after capsize.

No hatches. Maybe surge smashed and drowned them in the hull?. Trapped and tangled? Cold?

3 of them!! Unbelievable.

If it is, I don’t think that’s the prob. Not a fan of the blunt bows. But not bad boats. Reasonable p/w ratio but not silly.

I think most boats can be made to topple over (or sink) given an alignment of mistakes and/ or bad luck.

But off shore breeze, not too far from shore would’ve been quite  flattish water. But beam reaching is always sketchy. If fully rigged in 20-25 it would’ve been arced up.

To lose one out of five would be surprising. But 3! In a few hours.
