...nothing like an aggressive stance, insults & deliberate misinterpretations to lend weight to one's arguments...
Dude, Where did i insult you?
if i misinterpreted- im sorry, but i got too much of those type of people who discourage you at every step of the way to building a boat.

He's right you know.
Being a cunt to someone offering good council is the definition of déclassé.
I'm not being a cunt, English is not my first language, and there is too many people who are trying to discourage you the moment you even consider of building a boat or do some other *big thing*
thus there is a reason for me to get into a defensive stance with comments like these.

also I wouldn't call Tanes message an advise, every cognitively sound person would think that...

and yeah, I've already apologized, so can we drop this?

I quite likely know more & for a bit longer than most (you?)
helped my father to build his wooden cold molded 11m cruiser and observed him building his another 16m sailboat on which he plans to live till the end
im not an expert, but at least i know something.

It helps when you give a bit of background.
We just don't want to see a build go bad because money was saved in the wrong place. I made that mistake on my first build.

I apologize for calling you a rude name.

Thank you.
What separates Duflex from for example Divinycell?
I know it is designed around duflex, but I am pretty sure schionning has guidance on using corecell as well.
I've kicked the idea of building various boats around in my head, and the plans really are a pittance compared with anything like a complete boat. Study plans are usually cheap, worth getting a bunch and comparing them

Schionning mentions duflex on their website but when I contacted them about a kit a number of years ago the default offering was giant (5m+?) infused foam core panels shipped from SA.

Farrier never had a problem with people reselling unused plans. They were considered valid for the build of 1 boat, not necessarily to the original purchaser. I bought some F85r plans 2nd hand, confirmed everything with Farrier, then resold them again when my plans changed. Obviously ownership has changed but this would be at the bottom of my list of concerns.

Farrier is dead and the successor was DOA IMHO and has closed shop. Bottom line. There apparently ain’t anybody left to care. Sadly there is no Farrier Marine anymore. So do what works. Just one opinion and worth what you paid.

...again quoting selectively to alter meaning...
Mf, can you please get off my ass, i said I'm sorry!
I quoted only part of your message because that's the only part I could answer.
I've misinterpreted your message ONCE and you still whining about it, even after me apologizing.

That's unfortunate that FM died, but i don't quite get the last part of your message.

Duflex built boats I've seen are all to often made with the balsa panels. Divinycell/corecell are foams and don't spread water ingress like balsa.
Oh no, no no no, duck balsa and wood overall, i know that those are good materials of maintained correctly, but replacing the quarter of the hull just because some small penetration seems quite unwise. Also I read about arrow 1200 which was built with balsa core, sailed for one season, and then sat under a tent for some time, like a couple of years and the owner said that he could walk around the bottom part of the hull poking around and in any place he would get the water seeping through

There probably isn't anyone with legal standing likely to spend money on a court battle to collect damages if they ever even find out what you built/how you got plans. Double that if the boat gets built/used in a country where none of the people/companies that have/had owned the intellectual property are based.

That is probably not the thing to ask in a public forum, ya know...

Back channels might produce better results.
Correct me if I am wrong, but if i bought a set of plans (back in the day) and paid all the fees and royalties, and decided to sell them before I built the boat, how could I, or the buyer, have any issues?

Never said you would. In theory if the boat had been built there is an issue but realistically as things stand today I doubt anyone is going to pursue the issue. I just wouldn’t suggest broadcasting it…
