Works fine when you want a grilled cheese sandwich! Especially if you have a can of Campbell's tomato soup too.

In case you think I am some kind of heathen, I have no problem spending $35.00 a pound for genuine Parmigiano Reggiano aged for 72 months, or twice that for the one aged for 100 months. And $100.00 for 100 ml of well aged balsamic vinegar to drizzle on it. I also love genuine Emmentaler cheese from Switzerland, it goes for about $14.00 a pound here.

The "parm" I have now is actually called "Grana Padano". Lovely stuff.
Emmenthaler is cheese from a particular part of Switzerland (Bern?).... Considered the prototypical "Swiss cheese". I love it along with Gruyere, and Jarlsberg in a fondue. I expect that sometime soon I will try an Emmentaler/ Raclette fondue, just because the Raclette melts so nicely.

Widmer dairy in Wisconsin makes 7, 10, and 14 year aged cheddar, excellent stuff. The 10 & 14 have the white crystals in the cheese from the proteins breaking down, a special treat when we can get it.

Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale? With deli sliced boiled ham, iceberg lettuce, and chuntney from a jar?
I agree the meal is wonderful, but that picture does not do it justice!

Try chewing it on a piece of decent bread, or even a cracker. If you just lick it you're only scratching the surface with your sandpaper tongue. (And it's better than Cracker Barrel, but just);)

Yes, it should have been a frothing lacy pint in a handle glass, and some proper ham and to hell with the lettuce. But I'd defend the Branston Pickle.
