Chicago Gun Ban Redux

Folks are frustrated and acting out.
Not sure who you mean?

In New York City, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, our analysis found that in the past decade, Black people were almost 70% of those arrested for gun possession, despite being about 20% of the city’s population. In a recent press release, the police department noted that, as of last year, gun arrests are at a nearly 30-year high.

Is this evidence that black people are frustrated and acting out, or cops, or maybe politicians?

In Houston, where few would blink at the sight of a pistol in a pair of Levis, data shows that arrests for illegal possession jumped more than 70% between 2019 and 2021. Black people comprised more than 60% of those arrested, despite making up less than a quarter of the city's residents. These arrests have skyrocketed even as Texas continues to roll back gun-control measures.

Is this evidence that black people are frustrated and acting out, or cops, or maybe politicians?

“Outside the suburbs, in the city, we have control, but what the hell — you go out to all around our suburbs, and you’ve got people out there, especially the non-White, are buying guns right and left,” Daley told the president. “Shotguns and rifles and pistols and everything else. There’s no registration. … There isn’t a damn thing, and you know, something has to be done under the gun law.”

Who was frustrated and acting out here?

I think frustration is not an excuse for racist policing. I also think this thread is further proof that Black Lives Matter but Gungrabbiness Matters MORE!

On guns, I think Tom can fuck off and die because I really don't give a damn.

On most of the other topics he posts, I find them quite interesting and valuable. Basically it's on executive overreach and police abuse of the public.

Police racist abuse of the public is wrong EVEN IF they're trying to do something stupid, fruitless, and gungrabby.

So is executive overreach, even if gungrabby.

So is judicial insanity, even if gungrabby.

I haven't explained why anyone else got put on ignore. You're a cut above the rest and so got an explanation. Now goodbye.

Well the problem is that the loud messenger's propaganda features racial concerns galore, and streams race cards all about...while sponsoring Citizens United, the Kochs, and reason.com. A FAIL.
You forgot to impugn the Marshall Project and those terrible public defenders from New York.

ALL heretics must be shamed! You're slipping. I said to let the messenger attacks begin.

Wow, two of our best messenger attackers have fallen down on the job and there's really no way to support Chicago's racist gungrabbing other than a messenger attack or we would have seen it.

Same. Tom musta got tired of the ease with which I exposed his sea lawyering bullshit and reliance on a magazine for his daily info.

LMFAO> When I started regularly connecting Tom's racial crusading to his (problematic and undemocratic) Citizen's United, I was put on double secret ignore.

Come on guys! The Marshall Project and some uppity NY public defenders have disparaged gungrabbiness. The heresy must not be tolerated! And you waste your messenger attacking skills on me?

(Tom's quotes of others, whom he has put on ignore)

Games, FFS. Hide and seek. From Dogballs.
The "messenger's" dishonesty has extended to not ignoring those he put on ignore.
This "messenger" is now hiding his blog from others, which is (most certainly) a reflection upon his own message.

Hmmm, this 1st Amendment advocate chooses to avoid transparency,
and hides his "messages" from his peers, from key elements of his own tribe.

Well, the messenger wears the brand of Citizen's United, while smelling like Koch Enterprises...
as he crusades for racial causes, with daily race cards. YCMTSU, so I love this place.

1)The Second Amendment itself was racist. The guns were urgently needed to suppress the slave population, of real people. The Bill of Rights was signed in Virginia, and it obtained the critical vote of Virginia, only by accepting slavery, and by effectively locking in slave control, by granting guns specifically to (all-white) militias.
2) Chicago has gun problems, which will result in combinations of solutions, including gun restrictions. These will apply to and encroach upon present gun supply behavior in Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, and upon the Iron Pipeline.

@Keith @jocal505

, some of the very most restrictive in the country ,,

so,, with the brand new Mayor ,(...) Predictions time.

Hi Mike. Circulate much, in Seattle WA? Get out of the den a bit, rub some elbows ok?

Here's my prediction. Could go either way, in Chicago, depending.
  • If the gun laws are permissive, the shootings will go up.
  • If the Koch brothers, and their Citizen's United bits, generate and maintain income inequality in Chicago, the shootings in Chicago will go up, and stay up.
  • But if the gun laws are restrictive, and become comprehensive, the shootings will go down.
  • And if income equality should develop, within the most troubled areas of Chicago, the shootings would go down... and stay down.

Yo Mike--a general, grass-roots disfavor of AW shootings seems to be brewing, even in Texas, eh?

(Tom's three-part prediction for Chicago:)

Gun control will continue to have disproportionately racist impacts on lives

So you say, too much, but freewheeling gun access has a disproportionate racial outcome, too, big time.
And Chicago is that thing.
Hmmm, gunz bad coming and going, black and white.
virtually no impact on crime,*
*Research by Tom Ray.

FACT CHECKING TOM:
Present your sources, here. Because states with loose gun laws have demonstrably terrible statistics.
Gun control rocks, mate.

and grabbers will continue to not care. (Sniff, sniff, snivel...)
Let's not understate it. Dude, we grabbers loathe gun extremists, such as yourself. And by the way, your gun "rights" are a phony idea, from the seventies.

Maybe I can help you get started.

Both were quoted by the dreaded and fact-based Reason magazine.

So that's kind of a messenger-adjacent attack, for those who don't like factual reporting.

I'm admittedly not very experienced at this.

Come on and show me a REAL messenger attack. You're not going to let the Marshall Project and those uppity NY public defenders just say bad things about gungrabbiness, are you?
