Racing in Chicago. It’s amazing how much we are learning as we do our first few races. It’s just a fact. You learn different things about a boat racing than cruising. Even after 9,000 miles from France to Chicago.

Your main will look better if you tension the top 4 battens until the vertical wrinkles along the batten pocket are removed. Esp the gaff batten
Agreed. We had just untentioned them because they wouldn’t pop after tacking in low wind. Clearly needs to be a race day adjustment each day.

Your race result just popped up in my facebook news feed from a fellow competitor. That's a tough rating you guys have! You did very good for a first race. Boat for boat you guys finished ahead of some fast boats. Look forward to seeing the boat in person. Will you be doing 3 crib fiasco this coming weekend?

Yeah. Just imagine if we hadn’t gone to the wrong start line, and not been 10 minutes late!
