What is it with jackshafts?!! One of the worst ideas ever. If one of the inside belts fail, you have to slack off/remove the outer belts. So the poor crew end up hanging spare belts in the middle in a spiderweb of line. And you have to unbolt the end bearings to do that. There's 5 belts on this contraption, not counting the drive belts from the engine itself. One install I had to work on had chains connecting the two! And no cover for the chains. Deathtrap in motion.
Note they have given up having a belt on the emergency bilge pump!
And the engine stop (?) lever has a length of string tied to it??

But speaking of spoon bows, nobody did/does them better than, Des Townson IMO.
I love his Pied Piper.

I would throw André Mauric into this competition.
Plus: Maeva is a coolboat to admire.
Most of his designs were way ahead of their time, fitting into the 'Citroën DS' french design era.

and Doug Zurn, Marblehead 22 has one of the most beautiful bows I know:

Looks very Pen Duick, nice. Will be great to see her finished.

In other news:
can someone help identify this beauty?
Taken in Brittany, some weeks ago.

Nice boat. But, I do not like that clipper bow at all, Digits. Much prefer the spoon bow on, Forever. Looks like a couple of unfriendly orcas have nibbled the front off. But she's very nice below decks and I've no doubt, no slug.

this is a proper clipper bow, again from mummery
