So, the improvement of the air quality in LA is due to what? Unicorn farts? Did all of those cars just decide to release fewer polluting substances?

Face it - the Clean Air Act is to be credited. That came from the EPA. Which was created by Nixon.
Yeah … now we know what we know the government part can go away!

I like the way to took a program that is more along the lines of socialism than an unfettered capitalist system, and used it to attack socialism.

At least we agree the EPA is needed.
They can go away now!
The public identified the problem and took it to the government
The standards have been set and met
Now they can go away!

Yep. Because we can always rely on corporations to do the right thing with regard to the common good (which includes the environment).

And, why the need to post (essentially) the same thing, 2 minutes apart?

We have learned that we can not rely on corporations or the government.
Hence the American model of governance
Until the permanent overreach which is supported by loinfomofo’z or idealists like yourself.
Still waiting for the Great Society to kick in

Ah, you are back to that middle school "loinfomofo" bullshit.

You must be a real hit on the playground.

As for me - you couldn't be more wrong. I am not arguing for a overarching nanny government. I prefer a balance of corporate innovation with oversight. Not going to get into the details, as you seem to think you know me and what I want. I'd just be wasting time trying to reason with an unreasonable poster.

You are either in denial or are simply ignorant thinking of yourself as a hiinfomofo
Bottom line you are a skirt clinger
missing out on the greatness of America

Imagine I was the one who kept using that phrase. Just imagine!

Of course, the only poster who uses it with regularity, especially when it has fuck-all to do with a thread, would be that guy you see in the mirror.

In closing, I would say "nice try". But, it's really not. You're just a sad individual who seems to revel in being a dick. I'm done interacting with you.

As to reality, there's a potential housing development going on an old commercial-use land next to our yacht club. They are going to have to raise the grade 5' over current grade. One little development in one little coastal location. It's real.

Promise?
You have never been honest so there will really be nothing to miss.

Was just reading about Bangladesh, and how rising sea levels could submerge 17% of the land area - displacing 20 million people. More than 1 in 5 people lives below the national poverty line.

Maybe we should send them fossil fuels to get them out of that "grinding poverty".

Let me know when that happens.

Are you saying the development next to our club won't have to build a 5' pad on top of current grade? Interesting. Would be nice, it would get rid of the need for 5,000 truckloads of fill, and the road damage that will cause.

Interesting 2018 paper on what adaptation constraints are faced by different population centers when mitigating sea level rise. Saying "adapt and move" is lip service to the reality.
