I had a similar sinus/cough in the November before Covid - felt like absolute dogshit however I was responsible for picking up someone at the airport for the get together at their ranch in the middle of Texas so I went and tried to be as sociable as possible That night one of the group said why don't you try this so I took 1 hit of some hash and within minutes I felt great with no symptoms.
I was up grooving for a couple hours while everyone else went to sleep. Not a recommendation just an observation. Still Covid free and not been sick since. Had all the shots and still alive and kicking. Drug and illness free ever since.
A little dope is good medicine.

I had a bug back in November, which turned into a nasty cough. Repeatedly tested negative for Covid, and really didn’t have Covid symptoms. Coughed so hard that all the muscles around the ribs hurt for days. Pounded NyQuil day and night, and still couldn’t sleep, which I believe made the cough worse. Finally gave in, and went to the doctor. He gave me Benzonatate 200mg. Got home and took one, 30 minutes later the cough had reduced to almost nothing! Took an afternoon nap, and then got a full night’s sleep!

Thank's Bob,
Last night after reading about GERD cough, I thought I'd give some NEXIUM a go for a week or two. If that doesn't stop it, I'll try your solution.

it's a prescription only drug here, and will take weeks to get a Dr's apt with my usual GP.

If you have GERD cough consider getting an upper endoscopy to screen for Barrett's.
I don't think it's gerd related, I rarely get reflux, no sore throat it doesn't affect my voice. It doesn't hurt to take some Nexium for a few weeks and see it that improves it though.

I've just had a lower endoscopy, all good but I'll not go looking for trouble. Got my two year scans next week.

Lol …. What is a “lower endoscopy “?
Does that have anything to do with you talking out of your ass at times?

I never had heartburn or throat issues. They found my Barrett's as a last resort trying to figure out my irregular heartbeat. Vagus nerve.

Nope. The heartbeat × x x xxx x x x thing went away after a couple of years. They ruled out anything lethal after endless tests including nuclear something or other for my heart.

Still no dysplasia thankfully.
I had a episode of dysphasia once and that was most unpleasant and led me down the endoscopy road. Initial Dx included Barrett’s but second pathology said no. Acid reflux probably from alcohol and age, I don’t drink any alcohol 5+ years. I take a daily 15mg Lansoprazole and all is good along with the follow up endoscopy.
The dysphasia event was as a was eating, I thought perhaps too fast, anyway I could not swallow including typical saliva swallowing. I had to spit into a paper towel for about 45 minutes before returning to normal. That was unsettling and I saw a Gastrointestinal specialist a day or two later.

Do you mean dysphagia, or dysphasia?

Dysplasia is a painless condition the requires endoscopy and biopsy to determine. It's on the path to cancer. So ablation via freezing or burning is a first step. I don't want that path.

Our home tests said negative but they expired a month ago. Almost every drug store around here is still closed due to Ian. So before I try to find a medical center open here...

This thing hit me Sunday. Fatigue, cough, loss of appetite, followed by vomiting, congestion, fever, chills, sweating, diarrhea, can't sleep, can't get out of bed, diziness. It wasn't until I took some Tylenol that I felt like getting out of bed. But it was enough to wake me up to the fact we needed to evacuate. I can't remember being this sick.

It's now Thursday and things aren't much better. Still need Tylenol to keep the fever at bay, still using OTC meds for cough and congestion. Any help is appreciated. My thinking isn't very clear now. Thank you.
Vitamin D, vitamin C and zinc. Apples are good too!
