There are a LOT of nice small sailboats on NE Craigslist and FB Marketplace these days - high quality and clean units like the 10' Trinka, 12" hobie monos (one), cat boats and so on.

Vanguard/Hobie one (?) example shown.

I'm tempted, if the right one comes up, to get a minfish....left my Rocket in FL and a minifish is about the only lightweight unit (a must for me) which will provide similar feel for practicing on ponds around here.

Seems a good time for the patient shopper to acquire a nice used boat.

Spring is maybe in the air (it snowed here again yesterday) so good finds are coming out from covers and barns!

In Connecticut, $800 bucks gets you a Tasar or a vintage laser with orange sunset sail and a trailer.
Yeah, that Tasar caught my eye.

There were some incredible sunfish deals - stuff stored inside, used a few times in fresh water. BUT, some dude from Goshen, CT appears to be buying up the good deals and then doubling or tripling the price.

That's always a problem with a market imbalance - someone steps forward to take up the slack. Well, more power to him I guess!

As always if one is REALLY in the market, time matter....snap something up before the middleman has a chance to get to it.

It is cool that one can make a few extra dollar hobby out of buying and selling certain boats - likely mostly true of sunfish and similar.

Lots of lasers showing up for $750-$1250 - they look good in the pics, at least.

At one time I was hot on the Trinka and Bauers as nice row boats with a sailing or motoring option. I imagine they don't sail too well tho. At $2200 complete this 10ft model is cheaper than most - since the core boat is highly regarded. A bit of finish work and these boats look good.

Sadly, the Trinka 8, 10 and 12 are no longer being built. Johannsen Boat Work's Mark Johannsen has retired.

I delivered these 'Yacht Dinghies' all over the USA for a few years. When the shrink wrap came off there was always a delighted expression on the face of the new owner. His teak work was remarkable.

The strangest delivery was in downtown Brooklyn, NY down the stairs to an empty basement. A fellow with a turban and a very large bodyguard helped me take it out of the back of the truck and down the steps. Got a $50 tip!

What is the story with the asym on a bucc...how does that work?  Im tempted as its so close, but I would love to get a Volant, but they are rare
It works.

Not faster than the stock kite.  I had rigged it OK and it was fun.  Easy to use, but not easier than the stock system honestly (unless you simply can't train your crew to set or gybe a pole)

The boat Dexsawash shared is mine, no it's not the same boat that was for sale on Craigslist. I did not see the ad before it was taken down.

The kite I had built was custom to the stock hoist and only slightly bigger than the stock kite. It was a bit deep of a cut and didn't run or point real well, but is still fun to play with.

I don't race with it because in nearly every point of sail the sym kite is slightly better. (also not class legal, so options for racing in that config are limited)

Talking with people smarter than me I have concluded that if you want to run an asym on these boats and keep up with the symmetric rigs, it's going to have to be MUCH bigger.

Reality is in most situations in2 for  in2 the symmetric kite is faster on most race courses on most boats.

A minifish near the Cape - looks to be in good shape with a "fair" recreational sail. Not bad for the price if actually not water logged.

It's a little distance from me...probably the only thing keeping me from adding it to the Northern Collection.

At first glance the lack of scratches and gouges around the cockpit seems a good sign if not repainted or refinished.

For those of us not on farcebook, what is it, where, and how much?

Sorry, I should have copied over the whole ad. Not sure how you're going to contact the seller/giver unless you use Facebook.

Hello,
Is anyone interested in taking (free) the unfinished dinghy in these pics? It is about 11ft and located in Miami. It was being built by a friend that passed and his widow would like to get rid of it. There are no plans and was being built of stitch and glue okoume ply. IM if interested, otherwise I'll need to cut it up. Thanks.

Oh nice...I used to teach/coach sailing in Pocasset at Buzzards YC.

I'll be in Falmouth in a couple of weeks.

That is one peculiar looking boat.  What is the WaterTribe group on Facebook?  I don't feel like joining just to find out but I am on FB.
