I've met Cal in person a couple of years ago. He is a very good man. He drove a few hundred miles just to meet with me. Many people here, myself included effect one persona here and can be different in real life. Call is interesting, has had many interesting life experiences, he's intelligent and humorous. Suffice to say, in a tight situation I would like to have Cal at my side.

You know, if we actually ever met, we could probably have a good conversation as long as we avoided certain subjects. There's that military bond that people who never served will never understand. Police, fire and EMS personnel have it too.

But holy shit, you can be a real butthead sometimes. I can too, but you are way better at it.

If I've learned mothing else in life, the most confident people you will ever meet are the most insecure of all. They've just learned to deal with their insecurities appropriately. Maybe you can try that, it's never too late.

in the early '80s some people would run in canadian federal elections for the "rhinosorus party" which was a kinda of a protest/joke. A very good friend of mine was a reporter for a local radio station at the time. the story is he help out the mike to this rhino candidate and asked if he wanted to talk about his platform and the guy is said to have responded "we will have subsidized housing for dwarves, we will call them stay free mini-pads".
