Friend, can you source this? The latest guidance from SOLAS in conjunction with the Portugese Coast Guard is to empty your holding tanks once Orcas are spotted. They will leave and go to the next boat.

.44 mag bang sticks do some scary scary damage. i can only imagine what 12ga would do.

All those suggesting shooting an orca may not have actually seen one up close in the wild. Think of an intelligent, fast, 25', 6,000# muscle expressing interest in you. I've had them come with a few feet of my boat more than a few times. Scary strong and agile. Pretty sure a shotgun wouldn't have much effect other than really pissing them off.
Glad my visitors have had no other intention than just going about their day. But then Canadians are intrinsically polite, I guess.
Play some Yoko Ono? (or is that cruelty?)Their hearing is so sensitive I'd suggest putting the megaphone of an air horn under water and giving it a long toot.
Anyone who has that shit laying around deserves to be sunk..and humanity should high-five the whale that did it.Play some Yoko Ono? (or is that cruelty?)

IDK if legit, but definitely feels right.Friend, can you source this?
Have a read... Nothing new here.An Orca sinking an offshore-type sailboat? Doubtful. A wine-sipping crew driven to panic by a bump? Likely. Planning for an Orca defense is not on my to-do list. Getting into the life raft or jumping into the sea for a sling rescue would seem imprudent.9780882250908-us.jpg![]()
