What's really sad is that he could have used the carb cleaning for an informative blog post, lots of pictures of disassembly, cleaning and reassembly, part numbers, tools, etc, all the things he said he made note of, you know, for those following in his wake, but instead we get a badly truncated exploded drawing, obviously lifted from an online source, with a spiffy logo, cropped for visual impact rather than usefulness, an old weather report, and a bunch of snarky comments...

Oh dear

And I wouldn't label Tom Ray and i as generic, more like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern

You are assuming of course than any actual carb-cleaning took place.

B J, a simple carburetor like this should be childs-play for a MSEE-from-Stanford with an A&P license. But with his vaunted photographic skills and burgeoning photoshop ability, I just would have expected more...for those who follow in his wake. :(

Instead we get what sounds like a bodacious CBer hooking up a power supply for his linnyear amplifyer so he can be "wall to wall and treetop tall"

Hey Danni, why not just tell them that you are running an old boatanchor...that strategy has worked so well here...

Forgive the noob question here, but I've been trying to wrap my head around this mess for about a month. I get the general picture that some troll got blocked from the forum and is now posting his nonsense elsewhere. The thing is, everyone seems to be having such a great time reading his crap that I am starting to feel left out. For the uninnitiated would you mind telling me where I can read this blog?

You guys are too easy. I thought we would hint around as to how/where it might be found for a day at least, then start giving hints of the archive for a deleties-free version about a week later. Oh well, welcome, credence623. I assume you have been asked to fuck off and display some tits in some other thread? Where might I find that? ;)

Creedence623, the only rule is that under no circumstances do you post to his blog, let him copy and paste from here.

Tom Ray is still talking in falsetto from violating that rule early on...

10 posts in, and I've yet to have been invited to fuck off. I was starting to feel unwelcome.

Don't worry Timo, I've no interest in feeding this dork's dillusional narcissism, I just want to see the train wreck firsthand.

"over 4400 viewers, and all but three knew that I was being facetious clueless. it is apparently obvious to most that an REAL engineer could not really deprecate the metric system and be serious. however, I can certainly poke fun at this notion that a mechanic here in the states, might become flummoxed if tasked to think metric."

fixed that for you

Danni, Danni, Danni, bringing your knife to a gunfight again I see, obviously you are unaware that the US auto industry converted to the metric system some time ago, not suprising given your general lack of touch with reality.

More from the Tillerwad...

a good sailor will always have metric and non-metric screwdrivers at the ready!
Hmmm... I've just looked in my toolbox and discovered, to my horror, I have no metric screwdrivers!

<edit> No, wait! I just found them -- they're right beside my left-hand screwdrivers...

Of course, the metric "Crescent" wrench(or generic title, adjustable spanner) is a must for working on equipment built with metric parts.

"no surprises, that you misunderstood. I was poking fun at Jon Eisberg's insistence that a mechanic in French *wherever* might find the Tohatsu perplexing. indeed, I was saying, duh … the metric system is NOT incomprehensible, even though he might think it is. upon reflection, I doubt that he knows the metric system isn't just another diet plan.

a good sailor will always have metric and non-metric screwdrivers at the ready!"

Misunderstood? More like you mis-spoke, gonna have to be a bit faster to match wits with the CoI.

Gonna have to chalk that one up as a fail Danni, but that last phrase is solid gold.

How's the radar repair going, found the chafed wire yet? Didn't you drag your milspec propane line through the area that the wiring is in?

Maybe you zorched it while smoking the capacitors on your Drake, just a thought , but wouldn't QRP operation be safer and more practical? 9v batteries and a radio that fits into an Altoid tin makes more sense in the cramped confines of a boat.

A continuing source of shame, but I insist that I was just checking whether or not posts really required approval as tman said. They didn't.

Um... hate to bring this up, but... should we consider the ever-so-remote possibility that the King of Tardaciousness might actually be starting to grow a sense of humor after all these years?

Hey HB, you got a mention in the comments, good job. :p

Looks like the first full nutty of the year, tomorrow ought to be interesting B)

Hey Danni, Long Beach is nice, try Shoreline Marina, but you might fit in better in Wilmington. Standards you know...
