Like Lennon and McCartney..... Two giant egos with the talent to back it up.

I prefer Roger Waters, but concede that Gilmour is/was a master at his craft.

being a big PF fan, I never missed a concert after the breakup and used to A:B the two as their tours were usually a couple weeks apart.

Waters is genius with lyrics.

When it comes to playing, David is the master.

Even the Wall tour.  Once you strip off the theatrics and listened to the music.

And the Radio KAOS tour.  Lord save us was that ever lame....

There is a video documentary of Gilmore (Netflix perhaps), where a segment deals with his current life.    He is sitting in a field having a picnic on his English estate surrounded by his grandkids... strumming his guitar.     Very surreal to see a god of Rock doting on his grandkids as any normal grandfather would.   Probably a staged setup, but seemed very down-to-earth.

Yeah, I watched a docu, that laid out the vibe of Syd's appearance, basically Nick asking a production assistant "who the fuck is that weirdo over there" and she whispers "that's Syd" the book I own of the history of the album cover production company "Hipnosis" puts a much happier face on that incident by the way.

Now as for the band, their is a good reason why there is a very large painting of the gatefold from the album "Meddle" hanging on the wall of my place.

That album was their zenith IMO.

The story of Syd Barret showing up at the studio when they were recording it was disturbing.

A good friend has a proper 5.1 klipsh based audio system and the immersion DVD of Dark Side of the Moon done as both a 4 channel quad mix by Alan Parsons as well as the 5.1 mix done in the early 2000's.  Parsons was apparently unhappy with his mix, but it sounds amazing. 5.1 is every bit as good.

Both gave a sonic feel that you could have only experienced in a live setting.

Add in some kind bud for and even higher elevated experience
