I think I took those photos. She was languishing unloved in a side yard at a factory in Moorabbin at the time but has since been moved because the site is being redeveloped. There was a flurry of activity on these pages when I put the photos up but I haven't heard anything of her since. IIRC original owner, RYCV stalwart Doug Anderson, passed recently?Anybody in or around Melbourne know what finally became of (butchered) Carter Tina ex. Belita?
Last we heard was early 2019 where then owner and anarchist globetrotter was trying to save it from the scrapper.

Sorry to switch the subject a bit. Is this the same Lirakis of Lirakis Harness that was a must have as a bowman?Steve Lirakis came by yesterday at Commodore Tompkin's 90th birthday party to ask if I knew anything about this obvious DC design in a front yard in Cotati, CA, up the road from where Steve lives. Other than looking to be a metal hull, I know nothing, and asking DC's fans if anyone knows the boat.

Have you tried histoiredeshalfs.com?Dear Catherine,
My name is Lous Zuiderbaan, daughter of Henny Zuiderbaan, who sailed with Dick aboard Rabbit and Tina in the sixties. Later Jopie Bouman had Belita VI built at Maas' yard in Breskens. I have just finishes a book on my fathers life (in Dutch) called H.F.Zuiderbaan (1913 - 2011), zeiler. He and my brothers Hans and Dirk all enjoyed sailing Belita VI in the One - Ton cup races and many other races (Admirals Cup, Cowes Cork etc.) enormously. The problem is I am looking for a good, clear picture of Belita VI to use in my book. Could you help me with that?
I look forward to your reply,
Kind regards, Lous Zuiderbaan
With GRP over expensive in those cheap labour days, they were an attractive and efficient alternative to carvel build, and .... the then RORC rule offered a few unintentional loopholes for Steel boats. It's so weird to see those early IOR boats built of steel.
And Frans had not mastered (or started) to build in GRP by that time. The first fiberglass hulls were build at the Verschure yard in Amsterdam and finished in Breskens. With GRP over expensive in those cheap labour days, they were an attractive and efficient alternative to carvel build, and .... the then RORC rule offered a few unintentional loopholes for Steel boats.
Yup, he was not building any hull inhouse at the time, just sandwich boats plugs. (a scholar might wonder whether the move to an inhouse production line was a right one :mellow:And Frans had not mastered (or started) to build in GRP by that time. Wow Fiji. That is a great pic. Look at Frans, so young  Wonder which boats are in build. The white one is a Tina. The blue one isn'tYou guys must be talking about these two pensive gentlemen.
Picture must be from around 1968.
