Did Mr Trump buy himself a Manhattan DA?

Pretty messy stuff

I'm not shocked. That banks lend money to developers solely on their financial statements for big time projects is nonsense, they check everything out themselves. It's a fair bet Trump would be the first guy criminally charged for doing this as banks are not in the habit of seeking criminal indictments on their front men, and that is what a big-time developer really is.

The IRS will have a beef with being lied to though...and they might go for it...but that's a federal matter.

There was a pretty good explanation…last July. Good thread by a former prosecutor.

Still a lot of unanswered questions. The new DA has been on the job for a very short time and shuts down the investigation without a heads up to anyone? Seriously, this case is a game changer and without an explanation a lot of people are going to be pissed. Mazars dumped Trump just a week ago, His accountant is about to go to trial, The Grand Jury doesn't expire until April, and two seasoned prosecutors who thought they had a solid case resigned. I can smell the stink from my house.

There is something going on, to cause two top dog prosecutors to resign. We’ll get the story. The AG can make referrals to the DOJ so all is not lost, if they can prove a crime was committed.

Do you remember the McMartin Pre-School Case?  There was really nothing there, but Ira Reiner was so far into it, he couldn't withdraw and this ended up costing how much?  Give ya hint $15 Million and seven years with no convictions and a few assistant DA careers ruined.

See where I am taking this?

Not stink, and didn't Bragg get a sizable donation from the Boogie Man aka:George Soros?

I remember McMartin, a true tragedy and a huge waste,  I see your point. Bragg may have taken money from George Soros, but wouldn't that guarantee a prosecution and not a defeat?

Remember Trans Continental Airlines?    They let big names fool them, for the prestige of working with such famous people.

Transcon? They were a cargo outfit using 50 y/o planes out of fucking Michigan....
Lou Pearlman got a bank loan on a fake airline.   He showed the bank pictures of his personal airplane with photoshopped tail numbers to make it look like he had several, and gave them tax returns the IRS never saw on an airline that didn’t exist.

Or, and not sticking up for Trump, but maybe not enough evidence to secure a conviction?

The two that quit, what was their real motivation? Truth and justice, or being known as the ones that had a shot of taking Trump down and picked up their marbles and left when the game changed.

The facts will be out soon enough, although if there were no evidence for a conviction, I seriously doubt that this case would have gone on this long. The prosecutors had one hard objective and that was a conviction against the former president of the United States. Those two prosecutors were sharks, they didn't enter this case without a reasonable assurance that Trump was guilty and that they could secure a win.

Sure.  They quit because there wasn't enough evidence.

Gotcha.

They quit because there is a new DA (not a Soros Bitch) who doesn't want to prosecute. He also wants to make illegal possession of a firearm a misdemeanor rather than a felony among other things. The 2 were/are convinced they could win but quit in protest.

Got any other RW talking points?  While mulling this let us know exactly how the new DA got his job.
