Myrtle Beach,
I was given some "Par" lights for Christmas to go with the live sound support I am doing. They are an Amazon brand and include basic DMX 512 control capability. Any suggestions on which controller(s)/Ecosystems are a good choice for Club Level venues? Looking to control from FOH, with future integrations to MIDI from Show control software (Ableton/Studio One), Rackmount a nice feature. Running on a MacBook also possible with an interface, but physical faders/tap tempo are a nicety

So not wiggly lights right, just straight pars? Colour changing?
How fancy do you want to get?
Simple club change of looks, nothing fancy? Get a simple Chauvet (or American DJ or the like) 12 or 24 fader board.
Want some fancier looks or considering movers/wigglies for the future? Download free Chamsys Magic Q. And you can get some fader wings to go with it. (Big increase in deniros though.)

cheers

Myrtle Beach,
Developing a live sound support sideline/retirement business for local bands. Figured some level of lighting was appropriate.

Ended up with an ADJ “Operator Pro” that I got used.

Grinding through its manual and the Amazon 36 LED PAR I was given at XMAS.
can make lights change etc, but not yet predictably, working on channel definition template Puzzling out DMX, and MIDI triggers for scenes/chases as I go. starting to understand specs a bit better.

Bought light bar to clamp on speaker stands, now trying to rig power strips to those, and find a bag I can stow a rigged bar on.

Moving heads in future.

What level of watts/lumens needed for wash/derby/spot/gobo etc ?

price points go $20-$2000 pretty quickly
