Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think people are underestimating the security levels here.

If you look, there's a shower curtain hiding the huge pile of "Top Secret" stuff from the toilet operator. That's just the Secret stuff out in the open.

"Confidential" is in the magazine rack next to the toilet brush, out of sight.
Brings an entirely new meaning to “privilege log.”

Last night I had some time so cruised all the RW stations I could find on the teevee.
It ranged from Biden Crime family with lots of details that I couldn't follow but it's huge to the Cabal, the weaponized DOJ attacking the only person who can stand up to the Deep State destroying America to (my favorite) a channel that seems to spend at least half the time pushing snake oil to boost manliness to combat the Liberals feminizing the males in Murica. All blondes. A lot of My Pillow Guy pushing his sheets because when they are gone they are gone so hurry and order now.

Absolutely Lobotomizing.

Just putting this here once again - I am probably the lowest level part time contractor the government has and the only information I have access to is pretty mundane like name DOB, ph, address and email. There was a time many years ago that included SS and Insurance policy info but not now.

Every year I am required to take and pass tests on security of personal information, the different types of classified information, how to handle same AND how to spot mishandling OR signs that someone is showing signs they may breach security. These are tedious to take since I don't and won't ever be in those situations, however it certainly lays out what happens if you fuck up - from ignorance or carelessness to outright espionage. Next up: Cyber Security and what is needed to safeguard including information on social media.

I can only imagine what TFG was told, given and absolutely everyone around him was required to learn and understand. Every Year I have to do this. Every Fucking Year so roast the fat rumps ass bigly. Next year the courses will be longer to include all of this shit.

Felon Trump (updated again!)

The Justice Department begins to do what it must do

ROBERT REICH
JUN 9, 2023

Friends,

It is the first time in American history that a former president has been indicted on federal charges.

But this fact alone doesn’t come close to signifying the gravity of the situation.

Today (Friday) federal prosecutors unsealed the indictment, which charges that Trump illegally kept hold of documents concerning “United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack,” and the nation’s vulnerabilities to military attack, and that he shared a “plan of attack” against Iran with visitors.

This, my friends, is treason. “Our laws that protect national defense information are critical to the safety and security of the United States, and they must be enforced,” Special Counsel Jack Smith said this afternoon. “Violations of those laws put our country at risk.”

The charges also include obstruction of justice, false statements, and conspiracy — all of which carry the potential for years in prison if he is found guilty.

Trump will appear in federal court in Miami for an arraignment on Tuesday.

Trump and his defenders — and there will be many (such as nearly every lawmaker in the Republican Party) — will argue that Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton did the same as Trump did, and yet only Trump is being subject to a Justice Department indictment.

Rubbish.

There is no evidence anywhere that Hillary Clinton jeopardized national security. As to Biden, he came forward to volunteer that he had found classified documents among his private possessions.

Trump’s willful violation of the law isn’t just any willful violation; it is a violation that has potentially compromised the security of the United States.

Since he was elected in 2016, Trump has displayed the character of a classic authoritarian (fascist) leader who sees no difference between himself and the nation he is supposed to lead. Add to this Trump’s sociopathic narcissism, and you begin to see why he considers the top-secret documents as belonging to
him rather than to the American people. Trump believes that he himself is America.

Many Republicans consider national security the highest and most sacred goal of the Republic. A large number have served in the armed forces, many with distinction. How can they abide a former president who has so egregiously risked the security of the nation?

Part of me wishes that instead of this being the first federal indictment of Trump, it would have been for his seditious conspiracy against the United States when he instigated a coup.

But this indictment comes very close. If these charges are proven, they are diabolically consistent with seditious conspiracy.

It's an exercise in the standard pattern of Lame Excuse Bullshit:

"I declassified it with my brain." No, you did not. A President cannot declassify sensitive documents by himself. Look up the actual law(s). Last time we checked, even Republican Presidents were not quite unlimited dictators.

"It was mine." No, it was not. See above, Presidents can keep lots of documents but not sensitive military and state intel, war plans, nuclear weapon plans, etc.

"Every other President has done the same thing, only more." A flat-out lie, no President has kept many many many Top Secret and SCI documents, and certainly no President has kept them and then lied about it to try and keep them, while being recorded showing them to God-only-knows-who.

"I didn't know about all this legalistic process stuff." Yeah, people who don't know what the numbers on speed limit signs still get tickets. Besides, isn't it the President's responsibility to have some clue what the fuck he's doing?

"It's a Democrat witch hunt." No, it is not. Every bit of evidence is from Republicans who put their country above their loyalty to Trump, some only as a result of facing hard time. Aside from that, Trump is male (theoretically) so that would mean it's a warlock hunt. Don't Republicans give a fuck about gender identity? And are Republicans turning into Wiccans now?

Hell, that's the same excuse Clarence Thomas used. Proudly displaying your ignorance is highly overrated.

Rick Wilson: There are dangerous times ahead. Remain vigilant.

2016 called, and it wants its magical thinking back.

For the love of God, don't imagine this will be easy. Don't fall victim to the same seductive pull of "The X case/charges/investigation/indictment will finally take Trump out.

None of this makes him less likely to win the GOP nomination, and in some ways makes him more formidable for 2024 against Biden.

There's no substitute for doing the hard lifting of the campaign, of unifying the pro-democracy movement behind Biden, of working smart valences with persuadable GOPers (it's a small, but vital segment we at @ProjectLincoln moved in 2020 and 2022), and caving Trump's head in every single day.
The GOP primary is the press trying to make a horserace out of horseshit and Jeff Roe scamming Ron for $200 million. The rest is all noise.

Work for Trump's final defeat, and break the crapulous, violent, low movement he leads.
Don't count on miracles.

Do the work.

Trump will never see prison. Not even a holding cell while waiting for arraignment.
The worst he will see, even if convicted on all accounts is a house arrest, and monitoring of his financial actions, and the people he meets with. He'll probably be allowed Mar-A-Gogo, Bedminster, and Trump tower. But the money will be administered by a private (Snicker)accounting firm who will report to the IRS.
will he have to wear an ankle bracelet?
Read it.

Attorney 1 is an ass hat who knew his client was lying to him and was quite willing to destroy the career of Attorney 3 to earn his paycheck. Attorney 3 was a moron.

Trump allegedly confessed on tape to some of the charges. Is that tape available?
Just started reading it.
Trump not only took the documents to MAL, but apparently carried them around with him (to Bedminster (and one wonders how many other places) How many times did he leave the country, where did he go and whom did he meet? before the raid? and after?
