Louisiana Republicans rip off their masks and leer:

  • No teacher, school employee, or other presenter shall cover the topics of sexual orientation or gender identity in any classroom discussion or instruction in kindergarten through grade eight.
  • No teacher, school employee, or other presenter shall discuss his own sexual orientation or gender identity with students in kindergarten through grade twelve.


But in New Hampshire, a bill that requires reporting sissies and tomboys to their parents.


New Hampshire’s Don’t Say Gay 2.0, HB1431, widely expected to pass given the state’s Republican “trifecta,” requires teachers to report gender-presentation deviance to parents, but it goes even further, signaling a return to 1950s America, to an era when people were ruthlessly punished for not conforming to rigid gender standards.

NH HB 1431 passed the Senate in New Hampshire. This bill will force teachers to notify parents over changes in their children's "gender expression or identity."

Why can't the majority of America learn from history?

Interesting that Louisiana uses "he" in their law as an all-purpose gender descriptor.  Which is, of course, a way of denying the validity of other genders.  Good lawyers could have a bit of fun with that language.  

(And to answer the last question:  Majority???  We have succumbed to minority rule through neglect and distraction.)

You are an odd chap Skip. Why would I support yet an another example of how fucked up your country is? Mind you we are far from perfect here in Oz as right now a transgender persons rights usurp women's rights when it comes to participation in sport. Many Women athletes that have been vilified by the far loony left for suggesting that it isn't fair that transgender athletes are allowed to compete (and beat) biological women.

Personally I believe every person has the right to identify as anything they like. I will admit that why you want to identify as an attention seeking arse clown is a mystery to me but nevertheless, have at it.

Some on this board said it was a stretch that teachers couldn't introduce themselves as Mr or Miss - but it looks like in Louisiana that will be forbidden. Only non-gender automatons will be allowed to teach.

Yep, that is pretty fucked up. If you chose to go Trans, just don't expect that you should be allowed to compete in sports where they might have an advantage. Very simple, but it does not seem that way to some.

Who has been vilifying whom?

It is such a minor/fringe issue being raised up on a pedestal by the far right as a hill to die on. It affects the tiniest fraction of the population. Such a transparent method to rile up the extreme right for votes. Can't you see that?
