Made my day, a immature diamondback in the condo garage in front of my car this morning. It probably came in from the cold, it was very docile and I was able to get under it with a pole and out in the sun

I get mostly canebrake rattlers for some reason, oh and pygmies and moccasins. This is a canebrake from a couple of years ago. So far, just pygmies this year. Relocate them to a little creek about a mile from the house.

Years ago I was out walking pastures and came across a water moccasin in a low area. Fat and clearly not in a good mood and all I was doing was observing it , it made its intentions clear and it was not docile, still gives me second chills.
Indigos are absolutely magnificent looking, soft and docile.
They are protected now and raised in sanctuaries. They claim loss of habitat but I think there is a direct correlation between their population decline and the rise in feral hogs.

We have indigo snakes here at my place. I think because we have tons of gopher tortoises.

They just got an indigo at Iguanaland, a really cool sanctuary around the corner from me. I want to go see it because they're shy and I only ever see them briefly.

It's called Iguanaland but they have lots of lizards and turtles and snakes. We were there the other day and the lady opened the door to a Guru Monitor about 5 feet long and called it. Did she just call a lizard? She did. Then it came! It loved climbing on her. She let all the little kids pet it.

Back in the 70’s I caught a handled 3-4 big indigo’s, twice in a country road. They are beautiful, soft and extremely docile. I marveled at their beauty and set them on their way.

A fishin' buddy got bit by a Pygmy Rattler in his mother's yard over in Port Charlotte just off Harbor. Good thing Bill Haas was still alive back then.

When I worked for PGI, Inc, we drove into the Montgomery Ranch to fix the road and a big rattler was lying on the road. One of the Crackers grabbed his 22 and shot it. The old guy took it home, his wife fried it for our lunch the next day. It was food.

I saw Bill Haas at his Miami Serpentarium in the 60’s cool but strange guy.

My dad used to catch snakes for him for spending money.

They retired and got a place at the end of my road. Nancy Haast came here a few times to get coral snakes from me. She was nice and seemed really normal right up until I opened a bin and she instantly grabbed the coral snake that was inside. She was quick! She cautioned me not to try this. World's most unnecessary warning.

I worked in my teens at a fairly famous pet store that often got very exotic species either for sale or just for our own interest. I somehow got hold of a 4 foot indigo snake when I was about 16, and kept it for several years. I was told not to show it to anyone for legal reasons, so I kept it in the corner of my room in a 30 gallon tank and gave it a rat every few weeks. It was one of the most dramatic and beautiful looking animals I've ever laid eyes on.

Tough choice...this thread or the Darwin thread.

BELLEVIEW, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy was killed when he and another teen took turns shooting at each other while wearing a form of body armor, according to the Belleview Police Department.

The department said Joshua Vining and Colton Whitler, both 17, were arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of Christopher Leroy Broad Jr.

Crap, not 18 yet. I have Florida Man in the Deadpool thread.
