Wrong

If 80% of Democrats in this country had voted for Hillary (just for example) she would have won almost every state. Instead of seeing a majority of states with Republican controlled legislatures and governorships, we would have a majority of Democratic Party ones.

Notice that I am not saying this would be better, just saying that based on every published statistic, your claim is nonsense.

The reason why we have such fucked-up politics is because of the outpouring on unreasoning hatred from a wing of Republicans, and the fact that a sizable percentage of Republican voters flock to the polls to vote based on this spewage.

There is only a very small comparable Democratic Party demographic.

If you disagree, point to a Democrat Rush Limbaugh. Then a Democrat Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, etc etc. Hate for libby-rulls and gays (and minorities and Non-Christians) is a yu-u-uge media industry here in Amurricuh. Not so much traffic going the other way on this street. Of course, the people who like to swim in the deluge of hate-spew find it inconceivable that all the libby-rull fag Democrats don't hate them right back, so, in their minds, it's all equitable and fair.

-DSK

This might be one of those arguments that'd be better using "left" and "right" instead of "democratic" and "republican".

The haters on the right  -  the christian supremacists, the racists, the warmongers, the sexists  -  reliably turn out to vote for republicans.

But to the extent there's a comparable / opposite demographic on the left  -  they don't reliably vote democratic.  They vote 3rd party, or (often) not at all.

Is this going to go down to the wire? Are the Repugnicans going to shut down Mueller because of bias before he gets too close? If they do, are they all going to be charged with treason?

House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) announced Thursday that he has reached a deal with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for the committee to obtain documents and interviews relating to FBI agents who were removed from Robert Mueller's investigation over anti-Trump text messages.

In a letter detailing an earlier conversation between the two men released by Nunes Thursday night, the California Republican announces that the House Intelligence Committee will gain access to all documents and text messages related to FBI agents Peter Strzok and his mistress, FBI agent Lisa Page, as well as access to a number of FBI witnesses themselves later in January.

There are two problems with that, which harm its credibility.

1. Nunes

2. Announced.

So is Nunes totally useless, as he appears?
He's just a bumbling bullshit artist who will do anything for The Party, even if it means going to the White House to pick up documents that he can then turn over to the White House, to distract from the Russia investigation.

Speaking of the Russia investigation....  Sessions aide went looking for damaging info on Comey before Trump fired him.

Happens all the time.  Nothing to see here.

Except their guy didn’t report it to his government UNTIL after the story broke.  That blows the claim that the Aussies triggered the FBI investigation.  Doesn’t explain how Papadopoulos aledgedly knew  about the hack.  Of course we do not know if he specifically addressed the hack while sharing drinks.    He just as likely could have said the Russians have dirt on Hillary.   Which was part of his game plan from the beginning.
Um, no. Look into it again TMSAIL.

Edit: I see Sol has already schooled you on that discrepancy between what could be and what you can prove. Good for him.

So provide the actual transcript from the FBI  or shut the Fuck up.  MY POINT was with out the actual report It may or may not have come down as reported. We already know that the story contradicts itself with the triggering claim.    As Sol pointed out too many times these reports  turn out to be inaccurate or flat out lies.

Why should I? You made a claim you could not support. You already concede that to Sol. My point is proven.

That may have been the point you wanted to convey... But it is not what you said. As evident by your current addition of "may or may not" to your earlier more definitive statement.

Now time to tell everyone you're not paying attention to my posts again

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump directed his White House counsel to tell Attorney General Jeff Sessions to not recuse himself from the Justice Department’s investigation into potential ties between Russia and the Trump campaign, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The conversation between Don McGahn, the president’s White House counsel, and Sessions took place on the president’s orders and occurred just before the attorney general announced that he would step aside from the ongoing inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, according to a person with knowledge of the interaction. Two other people confirmed details of the conversation between McGahn and Sessions.

The Pride of NY seems to think that the AG represents him and is his personal attack dog. That might work in his line of work where he is from, but not for the AG.

Obstruction Inquiry Shows Trump’s Struggle to Keep Grip on Russia Investigation

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/01/04/us/politics/trump-sessions-russia-mcgahn.html?_r=1&referer=https://politicalwire.com/

Excerpt -

WASHINGTON — President Trump gave firm instructions in March to the White House’s top lawyer: stop the attorney general, Jeff Sessions, from recusing himself in the Justice Department’s investigation into whether Mr. Trump’s associates had helped a Russian campaign to disrupt the 2016 election.

Public pressure was building for Mr. Sessions, who had been a senior member of the Trump campaign, to step aside. But the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, carried out the president’s orders and lobbied Mr. Sessions to remain in charge of the inquiry, according to two people with knowledge of the episode.

Mr. McGahn was unsuccessful, and the president erupted in anger in front of numerous White House officials, saying he needed his attorney general to protect him. Mr. Trump said he had expected his top law enforcement official to safeguard him the way he believed Robert F. Kennedy, as attorney general, had done for his brother John F. Kennedy and Eric H. Holder Jr. had for Barack Obama.

Mr. Trump then asked, “Where’s my Roy Cohn?” He was referring to his former personal lawyer and fixer, who had been Senator Joseph R. McCarthy’s top aide during the investigations into communist activity in the 1950s and died in 1986.

Roy Cohn was the biggest piece of shit to ever disgrace the legal community. His career ended the only way it should have. The world became a better place the moment his lungs stopped moving air.
