Your first quote was taken from a Letter to the Editor, not an Opinion Piece. So what? Some guy in Rhode Island has an opinion. Whoopee. From an Opinion piece in USA Today:
Just think about that for a moment. A hostile foreign power was able to unilaterally install its choice for president to lead our country and our people. This has never happened before in our nation’s history. Yet it happened on Obama’s watch. And Obama, despite knowing of the Russian efforts, could not and did not stop it from happening, if you believe the narrative. This failure to protect our democracy is an astonishing dereliction of presidential duty, and a damning indictment of the quality and efficacy of Obama’s leadership. In fact, Russia’s success just might make Obama one of our greatest failures. One narrative creates the other. In their efforts to discredit the Trump presidency through the “stolen election” narrative, Trump’s enemies only serve to discredit Obama’s even more. Isn’t irony fascinating?
And from the Times, NY that is:
Mrs. Clinton was off the campaign trail on Tuesday, preparing for her final debate with Mr. Trump on Wednesday, so it fell to Mr. Obama to rebut Mr. Trump’s assertions. The president did so with obvious relish.
There is no evidence, he said, that a presidential election has ever been rigged. He said there was little indication that it could be, given that elections are run by state and local authorities, with people from both parties supervising polling sites and ballot counting.
“The notion that somehow if Mr. Trump loses Florida, it is because of those people that you have to watch out for,” he said, his voice thick with sarcasm. “That is both irresponsible and, by the way, doesn’t really show the kind of leadership and toughness that you want out of a president.”
“If you start whining before the game’s even over,” Mr. Obama continued, “if whenever things are going badly for you and you lose, you start blaming somebody else, then you don’t have what it takes to be in this job, because there are times when things don’t go our way — or my way.”
Your second quote was made in response to Trump's claim that if he lost, it was because the election was rigged. Obama was right, in that the mechanics of the election were not rigged. However, the manipulation of public perception by all the Russian interference was enough to throw the election to Shitstain.
