Funnier if it survives.
If you believe in taxation without representation. Unchecked executive power. Sure we can go back to that if you like. There is zero chance this will happen. Unilaterally using taxpayer money to reimburse lenders making loans to a select privleged group at 7-10 points over the prime rate. Joe the Plumber will be storming the White House. Will lose many more votes than the college kids. But sure place your bets. We have established Woodtick is a moron especially on U.S. Constitutional matters. You are his first club co-member. If it was a sensible plan the public approved of Joey would not have been afraid to properly propose it via Congress. Even his best friend Speaker Pelosi said it would be D.O.A. Like a balloon it is being shot down, only it's taking longer than expected.

I am still trying to figure out why a single person that pulls in $125k a year can't pay off a loan?
$250,000 per household. There are plenty of them.

Imagine the dope who makes $120k and just worked his ass off for ten years to pay them off.
Don't forget, payments have been paused for almost 3 years. They havent paid anything in that time.

In addition, borrowers who are employed by non-profits, the military, or federal, state, Tribal, or local government may be eligible to have all of their student loans forgiven through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Well, it is looking stronger that it will happen. I'm not upset; after seeing what we give billionaires, giving students anything should not raise a peep from those concerned about how the government spends.
I say cancel the interest. Interest kills repayment; if we do anything, making sure the loans get repaid should be the priority.

I had student loans. I paid them off. I do not have a problem with others getting relief I didn't get.

I'm one of those who buys into that bullshit like "I had to do it, so you should, too!"

I want progress. I want the next generation to have it better than I did.

Do you have any concern for the rule of law? The constitution? Why do libtards ignore that?
What about the non collegiate trades people in that generation who invested in tools and trucks and are getting nothing? Of course not the Litard model is they will get paid next year. Thats progress ? People made free choices to buy something many of them didnt need and was useless, overpriced and they couldn't afford. So the Libtard answer its free shit for everyone.

Where is this "Rule of Law" shit coming from? And, this bit about the Constitution?

I am unaware of the connection of them to whether or not loans are forgiven.

That sure was cool with the PPP loans.

Good question, but Biden's debt forgiveness program only affects those earning less than $125,000.
OK, 124,999...Not that it matters, but I do not agree with this one bit. Work with the institutions to lower interest rates, civil service for the people that owe if they want loans paid with tax money, what ever. The loans are not being "forgiven", they will be paid so of course the private companies that loaned the money will be paid. People making a lot less than $124.999/year will see their tax money going to pay off the loans while they are still on the hook for their mortgages, car loans, credit card debt, small business loans and so on.

Change the system to make higher education more available and more affordable.

What an ignorant and embarassing fool you are. You really should voluntarily forfeit your right to vote. PPP was a bipartisan approved act of the U.S. Congress and was passed 417-1! It is U.S. law It was meant to reimburse business owners who were forcilbly shut down by their own government! Not even remotely similar to an illegal executive action at least 50 percent of the country disagrees with.

It seems taking a loan and being forgiven paying it back is only bad, sometimes.

Waiting for you to detail how the Constitution addresses the Student Loan forgiveness issue.

Come on, JT show us.

Nice attempt to deflect. I suggest you read about a case that is currently being heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. Constitutionality of this case is all detailed there. It is not my job to spoon feed knowledge. You should have paid more attention in 7th grade Social Studies class.

By your logic you would have no problem with a Republican POTUS in 2025 spending $450-500 BILLION non war time dollars in discretionairy handouts on God knows what to a small select slice of the poulation without any accounting to the Congress, Senate, or American people. Stop lying. You know you would not agree with that. You are disingenuous as well as ignorant.

This is a direct quote from Biden made last year. There is only one lie in the 3 sentence statement, so that is pretty goo d for him.

No high-income individual or high-income household will benefit from this action. To ensure a smooth transition to repayment and prevent unnecessary defaults, the pause on federal student loan repayment will be extended one final time through December 31, 2022. Borrowers should expect to resume payment in January 2023.

Which prez was it that had no idea what a gallon of milk cost? I have to think that a good percentage of politicians in higher offices, and a good portion of the people that post here on a sailing website, are in the top tier of income earners, or in the best case, inheritors (IMO that would be the best way to get wealth!) of wealth. To them, $125k would qualify someone as being poor. They probably can't believe that anyone could live on less than that without realizing that most people do.
