Not sure what that has to do with the subject in hand, which was whether ETNZ is a “technology company” that licences IP to other companies or teams.
Team Arab Blood Money is a sponsorship platform. It happens to sell a bit of technology on which they granted themselves a monopoly.

Dalton is a pimp.

Sum to zero is a partnership. All three guys work for different ac teams

SumToZero was founded as a collaboration between Dan Bernasconi, Jean-Claude Monnin and Mark de Gids, who met when working for the Swiss America’s Cup Team Alinghi in Valencia, 2007.

ETNZ is a technology company. Dalts said this on several occasions leading up to AC36. When you need to raise funds to compete in a complex sport with around 50 fulltime staff peaking to over 100 in the weeks leading up to the Prada Cup.
The organisation is as careful as possible with the funds it gets but must invest in ball throwing exercises to push the limits of what's possible on many fronts.
Raising funds from the IP allows a zero terms piggyback that they can spend on anything they like. Perhaps, there's a little grey area with side projects like the land speed record attempt but, this is funded separately for as much as possible of the auditable costs. The facilities, tools and software involved in the land speed project may have been paid out of another means but, the balance of the funds given for the attempt and equipment and IP gained would go back to the core reason for the Teams existence. I doubt whether there's one person within the Team that's there with no passion as to whether The Cup stays in the cabinet or not.

To be a winner is tough. People want you to fail, fans want you to win. The leadership required at this level has to be tougher, harder and meaner than the father that beat the little pussies into bullies that spout shit in here.

Think about that. Dalts is a horrible cunt.
But, he is successful and I admire positive results.

So you must be a trump supporter, doesn’t matter the methods, just win. Forget anything about respect.

Clearly Dalts has the respect of ALL of the current teams as well as those who matter in Barcelona. NONE have complained to date. So he has the respect from those who matter. You don't matter.

OK, give us examples of technology they have sold to other endeavors? It is easy to boast you are anything, but if they are a true technology company, what technology have they commercialized, sold or licensed? And we are not talking about sponsorship revenue. Give me an example of any patents (it is public record, I could not find any in my searches).

Do not get me wrong, the team has been innovative in their AC designs. But let's not begin labeling them the next Apple, Boeing or even North Sails. If they lose the AC they cease to exist. Yes, many of the employees will find new jobs, but the organization will not be living off of the commercial endeavors that they have generated so far.

So...after all the fake drama the media tried to stir up regarding the silverlake deal with the NZRU "The AB's selling their souls to the devil" blah blah blah, no one cares now. The turn out was as it always was. A sold out Eden Park, packed to the rafters with passionate AB's supporters turning out up in droves on a cold Saturday night, in the middle of winter waving their flags and cheering our boys on. No one cares where the money comes from. Tonight proved it. NZ sports fans have been, are and always will be NZ sports team fans whether it be rugby, sailing, or lawn bowls, a national team is a national team no matter where the money comes from. When the AC starts, the fans will do as they always do, turn up in droves to support our boys. Thats just the way it is. Anyone who tries to say otherwise doesn't understand NZ sport.

Gosh, you mean they managed to fill the stadium for a home international, in winter, for a sport that is a winter sport. Amazing.

Almost as amazing as how much NZ dominated England in the recent test match series

As amazing as the Black Caps dominating everybody to win the World Test Championship, as amazing as how much ETNZ dominated everyone in the last 2 Americas Cups, as amazing as the AB's dominating everybody all of the time.

Like I've always said... no one cares that Team NZ is defending the Cup in Spain, because we understand the need to do it.
No one cares that an American Investment firm now partially owns the All Blacks, or that they are sponsored by INEOS.
Kiwi's don't give a crap about the details. All we care about whether we win or lose.

The nationalism in the Deed is quaint in the modern world, the AC is no longer a contest between the yacht design expertise between nations that it was intended to be, the technology and research race has moved to space and the multiverse and elsewhere. Nationality has been reduced to the commercialization of the AC events, the selling of it to gullible fans plus a few faces on the boat and their accents.

But I do think that 'culture' as in language and connections does still matter in these campaigns to a degree. The Challs for AC 37 are reasonably 'hetero' that way - LR again with all those Italians, AM increasingly so since jettisoning Botin and going with Drummond instead, and especially with the deeply British Ineos. The French team will likely be highly French-flavored too, if they do actually build a V2 boat. Unlike ETNZ, I bet that any of those Challs if/when they win AC37 will NOT hold the AC38 Cup offshore.

The design and racing are top-notch and a fascinating subject for me, despite all that nationality debate. Let's see who can win starts and hit 54 knots safely this time! I hope whoever wins does it with class this time. It is just air but so far Alinghi looks to have a pretty damn classy setup.
