Ineos surely already has AC40-2? But, according to a Palma-based poster here, it has some hull lamination issues? ETNZ does have AC40-1 and AC40-3, which is a touch suprising but maybe another team agreed with that considering the nose rip-off and subsequent design changes. Ineos put in only 1 AC40 order, iirc, and they did get that #2.

We have seen pics of the first of the two Alinghi AC40 ordered boats arriving just yesterday, it must surely be AC40-4.
According to Sail World.

Teams receive their AC40's in order of entry, with each team having two building slots. A team may switch a slot with another team. It is understood that the Kiwis and Brits swapped a building slot. Alinghi Red Bull Racing are getting two AC40's, it is not known whether they have taken building slots 5 and 6, or have swapped one slot with another team.

We don't know that NZ didn't get both boats before Ineos got any. Still wonder why Ineos would agree to such a thing. Even if it didn't harm them, it would help NZ

build slot 4 should have been Pradaif Ineos only took 1? surely that has now gone to ARBR as below:

The British team have received their AC-40, and Alinghi Red Bull Racing received their first AC40 earlier this week.

insane really that the defender gets hull# 1 and 3, but that is the game.

Maybe they'd rather focus on their own campaign then hurting another team.

Emirates Team New Zealand/Orient Express Team France today announced a Technlogy Partnership which includes the French Team buying a Design Package from the Kiwis.

Basically what we have here is a similar Partnership like we saw between Oracle Team USA and SoftBank Team Japan in the Run-Up to the 2017 AC in Bermuda.

This is BS what Dalton is allowing here.

Seems like TNZ wants TF to be decent, and this facilitates that. Probably TF is not going to dominate. But sure, it's always an issue when teams team up.

Look,
I don't mind it if it's between two Challengers like it was between Luna Rossa and Emirates Team New Zealand in 2013 and 2017.

I don't like it if it's between the Defender and the Challenger. The IRONY is this: When Oracle Team USA and SoftBank Team Japan did their collaboration in the Run-Up to the Bermuda AC Grant Dalton was the first one who cried FOUL but now that he is the Defender he is doing it himself and makes himself rich. Dalton is an absolute HYPOCRITE!

So, K-Challenge will benefit from input of a French designer, after all. Guillaume Verdier just happens to work with ETNZ. This is a pretty interesting development.

Obviously, GD has been working hard on all his revenue streams for AC37. Nice work.

Look I get it, people don't want to see the difference. I get that. The difference is Softbank and Oracle were the same team. Softbank was an extension of Oracle Team USA. They were effectively, for all intents and purposes, Oracle Team USA. They were not independent of Oracle, they were a team hired by Larry Ellison, funded by Larry Ellison, with a boat designed by Oracle Team USA, built by Core Builders in NZ, raced by Oracle Team USA in the challenger series.
As we've seen this time around, the French Team are independently funded, who are purchasing a Design package and building their own boat in France as an independent, fully fledged, bonafide challenger. Thats the difference.

You are totally wrong here!
SoftBank also built their own Boat. The Control Systems on the Japan Boat were completely different compared to the Oracle Boat.

If you purchase a Design Package from the Defender you are an extension of the Defender - Period.

The French Boat will look a lot like Te Rehutai when all is said and done.

The Team should be named EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND TEAM FRANCE.

Soft bank built two metres of the bow because thats what constituted "a boat" according to the AC50 CIC clause under the class rule. If you follow them, they even said they built 3 boats, the second of which was sold to Softbank Team Japan.
The AC40's and the LR Test platform all look very similar to Te Rehutai and are obviously the concepts that have seen the most on water time and are obviously quick.
The only other proven design is the LR AC75, but against Te Rehutai even Jimmy stated "it was like taking a knife to a gunfight" so it makes sense that the next generation would take certain aspects of that concept and apply it to the next version.

Do we care? ETNZ then went on to beat them convincingly. So it didn't help Oracle or Softbank and maybe it won't ETNZ. But it was generally accepted that for AC35. Oracle and Softbank were basically one team.

I don't see ETNZ taking that far at all.

Are you kidding me? There was an endless, endless stream of Kiwi hatred about the probable friendship between OR and Softbank's team - despite the Japanese owner being a multi-billionaire too. The Kiwi-boy hatred reached a crescendo when JPN voted to be in the Tight Five who pledged to continue in AC50's if they won. Despite there being only one team who voted against that, and despite how it was not even the arguably illegal Protocol language in AC37. Talk about two-faced..

In this case, GD and Ru$$ell Greene care only about the green. They are collecting all the entry fees and hope to cash in bigger on TV audience coverage and possibly even additional ca$h from Bar$elona for having the extra team in it. They have also $old a design package of some kind, for some pri$e, and if KC do 'rent' an AC75 as one report quoted Kandler as saying, well it is likely another deal with ETNZ that could put them even deeper in bed and then the relationship is even more beholden - and ongoing.

Again, talk about two-fa$ed Kiwis ;)

Agreed. They (ETNZ) are hardly going to collude with, or even merely support a Challenger to the point of defeat, are they. Time to move on.
