One would think they have plenty of room for B1 & mule in that building, they could surely take it inside & unwrap/otherwise prepare, maybe make some mods.

Or are they busy with other stuff in there?
one would think they have enough room for B1 and B2 inside considering they are the only team allowed to test the 2 boats at once. going to assume while B2 is off site being build they have plenty of room for Te Kahu to sit beside B1

Maybe they have learned something new about mast/rig/sail in the meantime, and want to make upgrades before re-assembling B1?

can everyone stop stressing where the mast is ... it came in on top of the boat as it left and was put on a different truck for road transport in NZ

It is an issue. The drag goes up quite quickly as the foil approaches the surface. The advantage of very good control is large.

This technology will be very cool, safe, cheap, and therefore popular when fully automated.

What i meant, is that the boat is not crashing as soon as the foil breaches the surface, there is no cavitation that propagates the full length and kills lift.

Flying/sailing seems safe at that time during the tack. It may not be the fastest mode of sailing when the tip breaches the surface but at least it's not crash mode.

Tip of the foil is breaking the surface quite often, but no real issue...
First thing I noticed as well. We have not seen footage like that of any of the boats yet. Very interesting

Edit: end for the shot Mike!!!

Yet when you look at the IMOCA boats they have more than just the tip out of the water constantly.  That not just one boat, that's all of the new boats with the Dali foils. Go figure

Not a ballasted foil on the Imoca for starters.

It's for lift and without the canting keel they simply would be fucked.
