Not a lot of piloting skills with a drone.  The onboard "Herbie" does all the flying with the operator just aiming it.  Still it looks pretty cool.

That's honestly not true with fpv drones. There is no self stabilization on during the flight I posted. That's all my thumbs. If you let go of the sticks it will just keep flying at whatever pitch you had it at and crash.

Told you they'd copy INEOS......told you the rules would dictate the design and that it wouldn't be aesthetic......basically every INEOS design conclusion reached by a team that had 1 year more design time, stacked the desk re wind limits confirmation etc etc...….what a joke.....next..

The boat looks awesome.

Only disappointment is it looks like a hybrid of the others.  I was hoping for some radical idea none of the others had thought of.  But perhaps I just haven't enough information yet e.g. the new floor instead of a deck.  That should be interesting.

I would say the solution for limiting drag made by the crew is different to the others. But yes, it does appear like a collection of other ideas. Hard to know who is copying who, or, the designers came to their own conclusions in their own right.

Yeah obviously, they laid eyes on B2, copied and built it all in four weeks.

I would say the solution for limiting drag made by the crew is different to the others.

All the teams will have tried to get the floor as low as possible, so add an aero fairing and you're there, with equal/similar front area.

Point is we were all told over and over how brilliant and radical the kiwi design was going to be......but it wasn't/isn't, its a knockoff pastiche...…...it'll still be a rocket because the design decisions are sound i.e. I'm super happy to see the kiwis reaching the same conclusions as INEOS.....also, Kiwi control systems are going to be spot on, because they've saved so much time on hull design.

It does makes INEOS B2 look rather agricultural and unfinished. But if LR blow GBR away NZL B1 might just get a re-run.

One biggie seems to be crew switch. That doesn't look like a quick (or safe) switch is planned. Like wing walking.Either 2 helms or they have a rabbit hole to cross under the deck. If no switch then what does the leeward skipper do? ETNZ seem to have specialised GA to sail control and PB to driving previously.
