Congratulations, GB on winning 49er Gold. Well done, Pete and Blair on winning Silver.

I was hoping Germany would spoil GB's party, but Fletcher & Bithell sailed very well and deserved the win.

So much for all the bragging about Burling/Tuke being GOATS of Sailing and being unbeatable. Can't wait for excuses from @Forourselves, @rh3000, @Ex-yachtieand others!!!
Multiple world championships, 2 silvers and an Olympic Gold and 2 Americas Cups is better than most if not all other sailors on the planet.

When Fletcher got dropped from the SailGP team you were talking about how Fletcher didn't have what it took to win. Time to eat your words now lol

Interestingly enough, I was the one who said Dylan Fletcher would be a winner, and it was you who said he didn't have the guts to be a winner lol

Show me a Sailor/ Sailors, with a better trophy cabinet than those two.

Are you really that stupid comparing a 49er to an F50? Get your facts straight. Dylan Fletcher would never ever win any Event in SailGP. He would be overwhelmed steering an F50 or AC75!

P&B sailed a very good race. I like the fun of the double-points medal race but it does hurt great teams sometimes.

I bet GBR will buy a round for GER tonight :)  Close racing, wow.

They looked lubberly and dull in Tokyo, frankly. Good riddance, I say.
Agreed.  I have really struggled with this cycle as it feels like the sailing world has moved on, but the Olympics are stuck in the past.  It's time for a more significant shake-up of classes IMO.

I know it goes against tradition of the Olympics - and don't tell Russell I said this - but it would be great to see a high-performance crewed boat like the F50 or even the youth AC foiler that got shelved last time round.  The traditional dinghy classes will always have a place, but I would love to see further new classes rotated in to keep things interesting.

Fwiw I didn't mean to imply Ainslie was the only one either.

Schedt is another obv one - apart from the long list of Olympic medals and worlds he is the only sailor to win Olympic medals in both dinghies and keelboats which is quite an accomplishment

Respectfully disagree, I found that racing today very compelling and hope the Finn returns. Or continues well enough without the Olympics.

The 49er is (to me) the more compelling class, though.
