EPIRB batteries

I need 7 battery packs for several ACR EPIRBS. They are the ones in the picture. I found them at one vendor for $40. Not bad. No one says "I am so glad I got cheap batteries for my EPIRB" once it get turned on.

Batteries plus has no ideas, just looking to comparison shop.

For a single unit for myself this might be a fine approach but I wouldn't dare replace an EPIRB battery with a non-factory version, nor do the replacement myself. Not using a "certified" replacement center leaves you open to a whole lot of liability.

Nonsense.

If they work - no problem. You saved $150. Great
If they don't work and people don't get rescued - "lost at sea. so sorry"

More seriously I can be very cheap but I'd draw the line at non factory EPIRB batteries.

How much would you pay if you're floating in a liferaft for a working EPIRB?

(Or is this a case where the EPIRBs are "too old" and ACR won't replace?)

Perhaps I did not provide all of the info. The devices do a self test, as did the tech. The batteries are the ACR Spec. Just looking for an ACR battery supplier that might have the same for less.

trying to pretend they are serving mill spec diamonds when they kitchen utilities

they are batteries
they may have a charging or safety circuit to check or replace

use good quality rechargeable's of the same type

other than that if you can get a cheap spot welder for battery strip welding and some heat shrink you can do it yourself

I got a quote for about $400 to change the batteries and re-certify my ACR GlobalFix Pro.

The "official" ACR battery is available locally for about $185 so $215 for service.

I think I'm in the wrong business!!!

your letting sales dictate logic

do you think they make their own batteries ?
if they are not rechargeable they will be lithium's
just use the same as what was in there

The cells are generic, but as an individual I don't have new gaskets and I don't have the ability to fully test the thing. The question is what value those have to you.

gaskets can be made to any quality level you like
it either works when you have finished or not
if you so wish you can tie a weight to it and drop it underwater at 2 ( or whatever ips it says ) meters for a few hours when you have finished to torture test it

watchmakers grease will work well for the gasket and seals .. unsurprisingly i have heaps cause yes i regularly replace watch batteries, as well as case and stem ( winder ) seals / o rings / gaskets

so as a short answer to your question .. very little to nothing

It's just it's a "you may bet your life" piece of gear.
correct it is
and that has to be born in mind
it also has to be separated from the extortion that surrounds it

a fair days pay for a fair days work

when they go overboard .. it's time to go overboard
