With car "launches" about to start what is everyone expecting?
Alfa and Haas as Ferrari clones?
Mclaren, Alpine and Alpha Tauri as Red Bull clones?
Which way will Williams and AM swing? They were leaning towards Ferrari last year but that may have been because it was an easier concept to wrap around their existing package?
Will Mercedes stick with the zero-side pod option or throw it out with the bath water? If they dump it which way will they lean?
Will we see almost everyone running fwd pull rod suspension like Mclaren and Red Bull?

American automotive giants Ford have confirmed their intention to make a Formula 1 comeback when new engine regulations are introduced in 2026, meaning another chapter will be added to the American organisation’s rich history in the sport.

Fresh from confirmation of their upcoming return to F1, Ford have revealed that they are doing so through a “long-term strategic technical partnership” with Red Bull Powertrains, ahead of the sport’s new engine regulations coming into play.

Earlier on Friday, Ford set out plans to add a fresh chapter to their trophy-laden F1 story, having powered 10 constructors’ championships and 13 drivers’ championships over the years – from Lotus and Graham Hill back in 1968 to Benetton and Michael Schumacher in 1994.

Starting in 2023, Ford and Red Bull Powertrains – the Milton Keynes team’s dedicated engine division – will develop a next-gen power unit to supply both Red Bull Racing and the sister AlphaTauri operation from 2026 until at least 2030.

Owning the design rights and commissioning and paying for its development would satisfy the meaning of the word 'built' to me.

Ford Europe paid for the development. Cosworth did all the work! Not anything wrong with that. It was a great engine. I think it will be good for the Ford name to be back in F1. I hope that it’s successful! I just wonder what happened to the Porsche deal. I imagine we’ll hear the details in the coming years. the Audi/Sauber deal sounds very interesting. I speculate that Peter Sauber probably doesn’t have too much time remaining on this planet, but what a trip it has been!

Colin Chapman of Lotus asked Keith Duckworth and Mike Costin of Cosworth if they could design and build a 3litre competitive engine for the new 3L F1 rules, they said yes and it would cost £100,000. Chapman approached Walter Hayes of Ford UK who had partnered in the Lotus Cortina, and asked if he was interested in the project, he said yes and the DFV was ‘built’ at Cosworth in Northampton UK…
Apart from being included in the Team name as a Lotus Ford, I never heard it called anything in it’s almost 20yrs competitive years but a Cosworth, DFV or a Cossie..

Honda are contracted until 2025 to supply ICE/Hybrid to RedBull and AlfaTuari teams.
For the new rules in ‘26 a new company RedBull Power Trans will develop the ICE and Ford will assist with the ERS…
oh and pay for the project..

I suspect that Honda have been very careful in what RBPT get to see…
Ford are paying to have their logo on the car, and are hoping for some hybrid crossover..
