Anyone know of any Farr 40's out there in decent shape? That are for sale/would part ways with. Preferably along the east coast.

Should I assume you already searched in Yachtworld and have rejected all the boats listed there for one reason or another, or should I compile a list of Farr 40's for sale in yachtworld?

It is... Just so far away unfortunately. The cost to ship a boat from one side of the country to the other is enough to make you cry.
Should be able to do it for less than 10% of the price of the boat… unless you’re really getting one for a bargain

A couple of very good ones in Australia. Easy to ship to US
So your definition of easy is take the almost 30 year old race boat apart, pack it up, put it on a container ship on the top row, taking up multiple container spots (at about $5,000 USD a spot and approximatly 16ish days), unloading it in Singapore, only to be reload on a different ship to be shipped to the US (at the low low cost of $2,000-5,000 USD and at least 3 weeks to LA, probably closer to 6 to NYC), then you have to get it trucked to where ever you are, which will be about $6 a mile (for just the truck, not including the following/leading over width cars) for an over width, over length load, then you have to cross your fingers that it doesnt show up damaged because everyone knows Longshoremen and truckers are the most gentle people in the world? Hun... guess my definition of easy is a bit off...

Probably cheaper at that point to get the boat in Miami and refurbish it...
