“The keels on the boats still to be delivered have hydraulic pull tests on the keel bolts and there is a way of fastening the bolts so they are unable come undone.”

... yet stay silent on what happened?

Was the head of the keel still in the case?

Why is that such a secret?

Is it the truth that will stop the new X2 orders from flooding in...

If you read between the lines it seems that “ maybe” the bolts came undone .but I doubt it they would’ve felt the keel moving , bolts dont come undone quickly by themselves

Yeah, yeah. The bolt threads and the metallurgy anomalies...

They recovered the hull and still no info?

Either the keel snapped or the bolts failed, right?

Regardless of the truth, orders for the next gen Farr X2's won't be crushing the door down!

I find it unbelievable that a catastrophic keel failure and further failure to raise a timely distress signal...by anyone's thinking, a serious situation....doesn't warrant a formal enquiry by our so-called peak body.
Instead, the "investigation" is left in the hands of a yacht club!!!??
Did this have to be a tragedy to warrant a serious review? Do we have to wait until a coroner gets involved to get an independent report?
There's so much more to this that a keel coming off. Wake Up AS!

Couta, most well advised clubs and smart people have worked out to run a mile from AS on these things as AS wants the clubs and persons sitting on these inquiries to run all the risk.
AS refuses to provide indemnities to those people and all the statements provided and evidence taken is not privileged and the persons can be compelled to give evidence and that is before we get to the defamation proceedings.

Having chaired inquiries into deaths in other watersports, the two most important things are the terms of the indemnity you get and the terms of reference of the inquiry.

AS don't have the guts to confront either issue.

And besides, a few dishonest trusty's will be appointed to any panel to get the "right result".

AS don't want to touch this as they haven't worked out how to make money out of it for doing nothing and having someone else do all the work for them and then how to then take the credit.

AS will look more stupid than normal when it's highlighted that the boat had undergone the AS mandated keel inspection. People might begin to question their competence.

Not here
A lot of things are still not well thought, but they are improving. Massive problems (like traffic system) is caused by stupid corrupt western consultants.
It´s no democracy for sure, but feels better than in Germany at the moment. History will show.
Sounds like the exact same line I was fed a decade ago by a rich, brilliant expat making a lot of money to sucker in 'business libertarian' types. He made his cash and got the fuck out after he'd had his fill of being treated like a dog by the emiratis.

Apart from the above - clear evidence of a serious re-think of the keel bolt embedment - this seems to support one of the 'nuts came undone' or 'bolts pulled out' theories
He said the keels on the boats still to be delivered have hydraulic pull tests on the keel bolts and there is a way of fastening the bolts so they are unable [sic] come undone.
