If we get Trump as president again or someone like him in power again, and you work in government and are asked to do something illegal to further some fascist scheme, you can forget about the legal system helping you in any way if you do not do it. The president will have YEARS to make your life miserable, have you disappear, take away your parking pass, or send you to Antarctica to count penguin shit.

Unless I have been totally imagining things, if not for the 1/6 Committee the DOJ wouldn't have shit. They seemed to constantly uncover things that DOJ should have already been onto and even then they didn't seem that interested until being publicly shamed by the committee.

Trump and his minions have been left free for the midterms. That didn't work out all that well for them, but they still have a decent shot at maybe eeking out a win and spending two years investigating Biden, everyone Biden knows, everyone Biden is related to, and making clear to DOJ they can stop right now or maybe get their HQ moved to Outer Mongolia.

Any one of us that ever came near the types of documents Trump ran off with would be in jail within 24 hours of doing so best case and every building we ever even took a piss in would be gutted to the studs to make sure they got it all back.
