Fuck, now I’ll be thinking about Shiner and brisket till I’m done for the day.
These people are cruel. They put the two hours of ethics credit at the end of the seminar on a Friday…no ducking out early. After that it’s a round at Antone’s and back to get more brisket and Shiner. Amazing stuff. Why can’t Florida people be patient enough to do a righteous brisket?

The elusive ethics credit, ha.

Going out in Austin makes me simultaneously feel a lot younger and a lot older.

If you’ve never been, Esters Follies on 6th street is a blast.

Missed it. went by yesterday before my flight but it was closed during the day. Austin was a blast but it made me happy to not be homeless and reminded me to bust my ass harder at work.

The homeless are. You and I will not be such.

I'd like to have a society that fits them in.

Fuck the profit.

I beg to differ - all legalese is intentionally semi or fully illiterate.

That's how they ensure future employment "interpreting" it.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. IMHO, lawyers who resort to legalese are attempting to show how learned they are, and to make the topic arcane to the uninitiated. Not all lawyers stoop to these artifices, but USA lawyers in particular are notable for doing it.

You know, when you cycle tour down 101 on the Oregon coast and then Hwy 1 in northern california you see quaint big foot stuff and the lost world with fiberglass dinos and babe the blue ox with a 70 foot tall Paul bunyan and it’s fun, harmless, and local folks make a little money and god knows after 3 hours pedaling you are looking for any excuse to stop but this shit, if the proprietor actually believes in that pos, is fucking tragically embarrassing.

I've cycled Seattle down through Oregon. I preferred the Washington coast. Oregon was too developed even then. I prefer the California coast as well.
Only the "Miracle Mile" of Lincoln City is truly obnoxious. As you leave Lincoln County there is a sign that says "Welcome to Tillamook County, Building Permits Required."

Oregon is easier other than the odd bridge event and the state parks are very nice, yeah a little developed but has some really good seafood for lunches and lots of bakeries and espresso, it’s more user friendly and there’s more shoulder. Crescent City to Eureka was not that much fun with narrow roads and logging trucks paid by tons delivered and most were dangerous fuckheads. Once below Scotia and then when on 1 from Legget to San Francisco it’s a joy.
