How to say “I hated history” without saying it.

Librarians catalogue our world, and historians help us interpret it. We draw meaning, hope and lessons from the past.

Think of these libraries as our nation’s legacy and building blocks for the future. In Trump’s case, a library would be a fascinating resource for scholars trying to piece together the myriad schemes and palace intrigue that roiled our daily news headlines.

In that vein, think of these repositories of documents partly as a warehouse of antigens; infectious ideas, people and plans whose recorded acts can protect our nation(and the world) from causing similar diseases governance without a well informed resistance.

Archivists, historians and students become our nations immune system, learning from the mistakes and successes of the past to protect the nation against future scum.
*A* presidential library is a good idea. One per president is not.

A review by whom, exactly?

Nope, a POTUS can declassify anything on a whim.

Not exactly clear, it doesn't clearly say that the President can, or that they cannot. But classification of documents is under authority of agencies established by Congress, ie by law not executive whimsy. Obviously it is something that exectuive orders can effect, but (in theory) the President cannot defy laws passed by Congress.

The motion to unseal was signed by Jay Bratt, Chied of Counterintelligence and Export Control.

Is that to be expected when dealing with classified documents or does it further suggest that there was a significant intelligence concern and/or export of classified technology concern?

Unless the idea is to decentralise information for access to the masses.

No, unless the target is trafficking in it. There’s a select cadre of Trump cronies involved in this - Flynn, Kash Patel, Tom Barrack Brannon are names I could see coming up. I’d say Jarred but he seems to have fully broken from Trump

Ya know...it retrospect, it might have been smarter for Turtle McConnell to have let Garland on the Supreme Court. Instead of signing off on search warrants for Der Orangeness's safe.

For you legal guys out there....If Trump argues in court to NOT release that information, is it still up to a judge?
Or are Trumps wishes granted?
Judge decides. I’m thinking the Order is 90% drafted as we speak. The rest will be a sentence or two addressing some bullshit argument some moron makes, which will get filled in tomorrow.

The Hunter Biden Laptop Of Doom was almost unversally reported, I saw it on TV news, several channels other than Fox and heard about it on NPR; for weeks before the 2020 election.

FLASHBACK: MSNBC, CNN, CBS told viewers Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation

Liberal pundits were quick to label the laptop 'unverifiable,' 'disinformation,' and 'disgusting

The New York Times last week confirmed the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s missing laptop, a story which was originally dismissed as Russian disinformation by many liberal media outlets leading up to the 2020 presidential election.

Television hosts, guests and journalists quickly took to the airwaves in October 2020, reassuring viewers that the laptop was "unverifiable," likely tied to the Kremlin, and the product of a smear campaign orchestrated by former President Trump and his allies.

True that. Comey admitted it. But there are two levels of justice these days.

Then there is the predicate to the Steel dossier being used to authorize the FISA warrant to investigate a sitting President: Trump. The Clinton campaign paid for it. Where is Durham on this? https://www.heritage.org/crime-and-justice/report/the-durham-investigation-primer

The FBI is known to have covered up the Hunter laptop issue prior to the 2020 elections because they knew that if verified it could scuttle Joe's election. That investigation is taking a long time. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/garland-question-hunter-biden-investigation-special-counsel

Garland refuses to answer Hunter Biden investigation question, doesn't commit to appointing special counsel

Garland said the investigation can be trusted because it is being overseen by a 'Trump appointee'
