Discussions between attorney and client are protected from disclosure by the Atty/Client privilege. It is sacrosanct and can be pierced in the rarest of cases. One such exception is the crime fraud exception. Client can tell Atty about past crimes, and be protected, but not ongoing or planned future crimes.

A federal judge has ruled that Trump’s atty’s conversations and notes about the Mar a Lardo document-mart fall within the crime fraud exception and must be disclosed. The appellate court ordered overnight briefing and ruled in a day, suggesting that something very sensitive was ongoing. National security type stuff. That court has ordered Corcoran to testify (will happen Friday) and turn over docs, which supposedly include transcripts of his recordings of conversations with Trump. This is moving with what some might call alacrity.
