Mar a Lago is a near-nothingburger to date, if it weren’t, we’d have heard about it from some from some State Department leakers or investigative political types. Let’s not play “Seven Days in May” in reverse over this one unless some evidence of actual national- league harm to the country’s national interests is discovered.

Smith is apparently going after Mango’s foreign business dealings, and as a part of the MAL docs investigation. They must be trying to figure this out too.

This is not some ‘political witch-hunt’ it is the law.
After taking an early-retirement offer during the pandemic and having too much time now, I have watched an unhealthy amount of coverage about the various facets of the legal cases lined up against Mango. Yes, what I watch are left-leaning but they include not just opinion but also facts of the cases, much of it in already publicly available court filings. Let alone the statements to the media, by ex-Mango lawyers and such.

I disagree strongly. This is not an anti-Republican thing, it's a pro-America thing.
What -IS- "America" to you?
Is it a land where the elected President can put his own personally loyal thugs into office?
Well, technically no, but Presidents have done so even if the system discourages it.
Can the elected President muscle aside the law, put people he hates in jail or have them killed? Start wars? Do whatever he likes with public funds?
Again, technically no. Our system is supposed to run by law.
Can the elected President make himself King? That is certainly not what George Washington had in mind. That is totally and completely against anything the Constitution ever tried so say.
Problem: our system, our laws, are operated by people.
When people don't follow the law scrupulously ESPECIALLY PEOPLE IN POSITIONS OF PUBLIC TRUST, then guess what happens. It falls apart.
Trump and his pals just threw sand in the life-support, blew open the air locks, and are laughing at the impending implosion of our system. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who would perfectly happy with a President-For-Life and a corrupt dictatorship. Apparently, about 35% of voters.
