FBI storms Mar a Lago

Correct. If the Democrats were real he-men, fit to rule over you lazy peasants, they would have stirred up a riot and violently swarmed into Mar-A-Logo chanting "Hang Ivanka! Hang Ivanka!" and then just set fire to Trump. The flammable orange dye and his fat would make him go up like the Hindenburg and it would be all over.
You have crystalized the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Again, not true. I never wanted to BTBD. I said on election night in Nov 2016 that trump was likely to BTBD**.....

**Bitch = The GOP. I'm actually quite shocked that they've held on this long. I figured they'd be long gone by now. I guess the power of Fox propaganda is stronger than I ever gave them credit for.

Jeff, you literally titled a thread The GOP - Let's Burn this bitch down. You're getting down to Dog levels of denial. You're saying you didn't say it and at the same time that people are misunderstanding/misrepresenting what you did say.

Cognitive dissonance much?

It's not as fun as engaging in speculative shitfights.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with speculative shitfights. That's why PA exists in the first place, right? It's fun to argue anonymously; to some, especially when it is an opportunity to insult and degrade others.

Just pointing out that the shitfights are over speculation.

Speculation, with credible reports on a few key things. Did they find top-secret document at Mar-A Lago after Trump had already affirmed (in legal format) that yeah he did take stuff but he'd given it all back. Taking the stuff was wrong in the first place, that's tantamount to a confession of a serious crime that would land a normal citizen in the clink just as swiftly as getting caught with a pocketful of heroin.

So, he's confessed to a crime. But we let him off the hook because he'd pinky-sworn he didn't do it worse... except there was further evidence that he did, enough to justify a search warrant, which did in fact yield results. And Trump -still- doesn't go to jail, instead he bloviates and lies some more, knowing full well that his gullible devoted fans will shout it from the rooftops.

The bit about the affidavit sworn for obtaining a search warrant, that's worth making a fuss over because the trumpalos want to know who put the finger on Trump.

Now, ex-Presidents don't get cuffed and thrown into the back of a patrol car. Or at least, not yet they don't. Trump cannot really be judged GUILTY other than in a proper court trial. The same deal we give to people who are caught on the street with a pocket full of heroin, or military subcontractors with a briefcase full of nuclear secrets. But in their case, they await trial in a jail cell.

IMHO:

There remains question as to whether TFG committed and should be charged with a crime.

The warrant was issued by a judge who agreed that there was probable cause to do so.

A lot of assumptions are being made on all sides here (including by ALL media outlets).

One assumption is that TFG committed a crime. If the FBI has adequate evidence of said crime (not proven yet in the public eye), the ONLY reason he hasn’t been arrested is because he is a former president. So Trumpaloos can just calm the fuck down with this unfair treatment bullshit. Likewise, Lefty Libtards can just calm the fuck down with these calls for TFG to be punished.

Hillary’s email server and TFG’s boxes of documents are not equal. And TFG has not been treated differently. (Hillary cooperated with the FBI. To date it appears TFG simply shone them on until they had no other choice but to pursue and execute the warrant.)

Hillary, Hunter, Joe, TFG, Rudy, Alex Jones, nor anyone else should be immune from legal consequences. ANYONE who committed a crime should be charged and face the consequences if found guilty after a fair trial.

The DOJ and FBI and the courts should be the ones to decide how to proceed, not politicians nor the public.

We don’t have a complete set of information yet. Absence of evidence is not evidence.

It’s WAY too early to draw conclusions. Any conclusions at this point are opinion and should be presented and viewed as such, not as fact.

Hillary, Hunter, Joe, TFG, Rudy, Alex Jones, and anyone else remains innocent until proven guilty. Likewise, it should be assumed that the DOJ and FBI are responsibly following protocol unless and until that is shown to not be the case.

All the documentation that is being demanded at this point (the underlying affidavit, etc.) will come out in due time. The DOJ and FBI should not and do not do their jobs to meet the public’s timetable. The cases, facts, and circumstances of the investigations do and should dictate the timing of releases of information.

Everybody on both sides needs to just calm the fuck down and let this play out.

To a layman like me, not an US citizen and thus not directly involved, your points sound reasonable and sensible.

At the same time, I feel an urge for justice (under the law) and punishment (because blatant in-your-face bullshit).

So, yeah, if after all the proper procedures and protocols have been followed ... if TFG, his clan and his enablers get stripped of all their riches, go to prison and die there as "$Donald who?", I could get a feeling that justice has been served.

But that's just me kinda following a pretty fucking bad reality TV show on a totally overdone criminal, corrupt and stupid family business taking over the most powerful nation on this planet. YMMV.

Germany and most other democracies are not that different, usually the police cannot just go searching because they feel like it, they have to convince a judge or other authority there is a valid reason to do so.

Doug, I wonder ... is it possible that TFG et al are not considered a flight risk because literally no country on this plant would have them?

(Including Russia, North Korea and maybe even Brazil?)

Let me rephrase that..... yes I most certainly WANTED to metaphorically "burn down" the GOP, or at least watch the GOP self-immolate. I have said that very clearly and repeatedly in many posts over the last 6+ years.

I did not and have never wanted to "burn down" the US, our American institutions, or the American gov't.... as the liar Olsen Johnson keeps saying. Not physically or even metaphorically. The current GOP is the cancer in the US right now and it needs to be removed by any means necessary. They are a exigent threat to US democracy! I really thought trump would be the chemotherapy that the party needed. Little did I know they would thrive on the poison......

Is any part of that unclear to you now, gaytor?

We're not that different now, I agree (and/or hope), but then we hopefully have had our "TFG-Moment" some 90 years ago.

Didn't turn out well, as we all know.

There are mistakes that really don't need to be repeated.

Good night.

I genuinely don't know. I'd bet that he is not considered a serious flight risk because his travels are pretty highly orchestrated and high profile. Trump would have a hard time sneaking out of the country.

Perhaps. Even likely. But we still don't KNOW what was found, nor exactly why the warrant was necessary. We have reports, but no first-hand accounts yet. And certainly no official first-hand accounts. (I'm fully prepared to be proven wrong on this point. But please provide cites.) As some have speculated, it's possible that the intent was simply to retrieve the documents. (I agree that seems unlikely, but we have NO PROOF either way. Yet. That's really fundamental to my underlying point.)
We have the inventory released by DOJ listing documents recovered with security classifications up to, and including, TS/SCI.

The very presence of those documents in a store room at Mar-a-Lago is way beyond any explanation. I would offer that is a crime.

That the defeated ex-President’s legal help lied about everything being returned is fraud.

He should have been arrested.
