Is this another “process” crime? The sympathetic victims are who? And a conviction is going to benefit the victims how?

I’m no orangehead fan, but I wonder if this isn’t better left to the political process.

This is the crime that his lawyer already went to jail for and for which DJT was an unnamed co-conspirator. Fraud basically.

So basically once you become a politician no laws apply to you anymore except that if the voters don't like your criminal activities, they won't vote for you?
Besides for the general problem of the rule of law becoming null and void, this of course could lead to things like one candidate killing all the other ones. Why not, if the people didn't like it they wouldn't have voted for you. Never mind the little detail you were the only one alive to vote for

* I am reading a history of Mexico and that is how some of their elections actually worked. Candidate A killed candidate B, became governor or mayor, and then the cops worked for him and no charges filed.

** or try this: you rob a bank and fail. No harm no foul. You rob it and succeed, well now you have all the money and everyone works for you. You can't lose either way!

It was a floozy-hush money payment, but with campaign funds. That's the problem.

1- prostitution is illegal
2- extortion is illegal
3- the money came from political campaign funds

#3 is the biggest crime, we have election laws for a reason and breaking them should be taken very seriously.

Like the 8 swing states did ?
When they violated the Constitution and local politicians changed voting laws?
2020

Yeah, that would be terrible & awful & very bad, if it actually happened.
Which it didn't.
