IMHO the Trump "Empire" was coming apart when he got smacked down by US banks and had to accept a stipend, which led to him seeking a side gig being a TV reality show character. Anybody with good sense would have grabbed as much money as they could and fled back then. But I guess the grift has been pretty good and it's hard to stop sucking that teat when it looks like the law will never actually catch up with you.

Trump actually has some backing for his Tuesday revelation, I saw several talking heads covering the local law enforcement going over preparations for protests regarding his upcoming indictment. I read one article (or saw an interview) that quoted "somebody" saying Trump could be indicted as early as Tuesday or Wednesday.

But yes, he did get into the BS TV show that further inflated his ego to soaring new heights!!
The only reason he ran for POTUS was to get the TV guys to pay him more for his "Apprentice" gig! He never thought he had a chance to win, but when it became apparent it was possible, his ego inflated even more to the point of his becoming totally narcissistically batshit crazy!
