Sargassum is edible, it's harvested to feed livestock too, and you can fry, boil, steam or dry it. It's played a part in Chinese medicine as far back as the 8th century, treating goiters (high iodine content) — and made into tea to control phlegm.Aren't many seaweeds edible???

As scientists learned more about this novel (as in hasn't been found in humans, in the past) virus, they adjusted their recommendations. Uninformed people claimed such changes in recommendations indicated science was "wrong". In doing so, they only exposed their own ignorance of how science works.
Of course, armed with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, they continue with their claims of knowing better what should have been done.
The caution probably did help a lot until the vaccine and treatment protocols could be developed.

This—in all of its effulgent glory—is actually an episode from The Simpsons come to life: In the cartoon version, Michelangelo’s David is sent around on a tour of the US, with an expected stop in Springfield, which triggers members of SNUH [Springfieldians for Nonviolence, Understanding, and Helping].
One suspects that many of these words do not mean what the Florida folks seem to think they mean.
The school’s website defines “classical education” as “the pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty.” And it adds:

There was a lot we didn’t know. Our decisions weren’t rational to somebody with real experience In herd health, as my posts argued at the time. The only argument for the shutdowns was to avoid hospital overload. Therefore, they should have been based on regional hospital burdens and case growth. Masks and low expense protection should have been prioritized over vacations,
We do owe a lot to Obama forcing hospitals to gear up for resp disease and improve ventilation. We should be learning from our failures and planning for the next one. Thanks to Jim Jordan and his elk, we are screwed for round two. Remember, probability statistics have no memory. The risk for pandemic 2024 is similar to the risk in 2020. It won’t be a coronavirus of the SARS 2 flavor.
