We don't like living anywhere near cities. We live in the country, right on the edge of the woods and all manner of wild animals from bear to cougar to raccoons to badger traverse the old road on the south side of our property. We respect them and keep our distance and expect them to do the same. Occasionally a bear will try and suckle from a hummingbird feeder, or a coyote will try to take a cat or small dog for a meal, or a racoon will try and drown a goose in the pond - but if they try the later, we sick a dog on them, if that doesn't work or they prove problematic, my wife will put a large dog on them and scare them off. If they kill one of our domesticated animals, my wife or one of the neighbors will track them down and put them down. I just don't want them killing coyotes, because coyotes respond to killings in their pack to breeding massively, and increasing their pack size.

Your expectations of wildlife to keep their distance carries about as much weight as sailing a boat through monterey bay and expecting the whales to keep their distance. your murderous ways of native species are not well-taken

I had 3 hens and a cock from hatchlings thru adulthood, they were all sweet friendly birds that would follow us around our place and hang out. After the hens started laying the male became very aggressive especially toward me, after he figured out I could defend him pretty well from the front he’d sneak up on me from behind and jump on my back. Sharp talons, they have.

That was my impression of them too.
, as a kid on the ranch, we started with about your setup, and the flock (?) grew to a dozen-ish. .
Kind of noisy, but they learn who "their" people are,
, but any stranger or threat from the bush they get REAL loud and animated, they're a very good "natural alarm system".

It was annoying as hell having to be aware of where he was at all times, there were a few times I was ready to wring his ugly neck and put him in the stew pot. He was a sweet boy until the hens started to lay; after that he would just take a run or two at my wife occasionally but he’d full on attack me all the time talons and all, didn’t matter if the hens were around or not.

As Mike mentioned you knew when human or animal came on the property, they’d start a ruckus. And excellent debuggers, rodents and snakes too.

Yeah, on the snake issue. They don't care if it is venomous or not, that snek is dead.

Not uncommon to see them kept at houses near grain elevators. Grain = rodents = snakes = fat guineafoul.
