I don’t like the Foo Fighters but Dave Grohl appears to be a stand up guy in everything he’s done. He grieving the loss of a friend and his mother apparently, if the album was released days or weeks after Hawkins death there might be an argument.

Doesn’t look like profiteering to me.

I am just so tired of every new release is a Breakup/dog died/my coffee is cold fucking album.

This is just how it looks to me. Dave, leaveraging $'s out of his dead band member. They don't have to fucking pretend it didn't happen, they just have to not make money out of the sympathy and just get on with doing what they do. But no, please feel sorry for us and buy the album.

I think it's a bit sick.

But is it okay with the remaining living, and the heirs of The Beatles still make money from John Lennon and George Harrison's contributions?

It's called the music business motherfucker; learn to live with it and enjoy it if that is your taste.

Writing about the fear of losing a multinational multi million dollar rock n roll money machine doesn’t have the same relatability as losing a friend and mother.

That said, this guy could write a song about crossing the street, perform it on an acoustic and have an arena or stadium eating out of his hands...but being the generous guy that he is, he brought the band along and made sure that the probably 100 plus people whose employment directly related to the album and the tour kept their jobs.

As they say, and perhaps cruelly in some respects, the show must go on.

Well, being professional musicians, what are they going to do?…drive trucks?
Nope, they still have to make a living doing what they do.
I fully understand the OP’s point tho, that the next endeavour shouldn’t be about Hawkings in any way that brings profit to the existing band as such.
That would be sick, man!

what a pessimistic ass... maybe ,because of experience, he's helping the band and fans grieve by producing a tribute...

and possibly because you have no family or friends , you don't know what grieving is like..

Tribute?

Like Tribute bands use that word instead of "we are making money from playing their shit". Like tribute in this case is licensing the name of a dead guy.

Does anyone think that Taylor will appreciate it? No. This is the band making money from the death of someone who appeared not to want to be here. He succeeded.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe Taylor’s family is benefiting from this?
