How very strange - just for the in-port races? The skills required are so completely different to the rest of the race in monos. Admittedly the Ocean boats look super cumbersome trying to do quick maneuvers but why not just go multis for the whole race or just stay with the monos - half and half seems crazy.

I think you are on to it bob - yes they are trying to ease the sponsors and audience into it, but to your point, it would suck trying to race a vendee boat in harbor

I would have thought the obvious solution would be to sail the harbour races fully crewed ?
