fuel lines

I need to replace a fuel line from the fuel pump to the second fuel filter.  The original line was a formed metal line but the replacement fuel pump has the opening on the opposite side (brilliant bit of updating).  Volvo sells a fuel line with crimped banjo fittings but wants $100.  Is it a bad idea to buy barbed banjo fittings and cut fuel line to fit?  I assume that the pressure is pretty low as it is before the injectors.

Yes, before the injector pump the pressure will be low. A rubber hose with some hose clamps will work.

I'd agree finding a place that makes up a banjo bolt ends.

Had a guy who did hydraulics for tractors make me one similarly for an old Volvo engine when we were in need mid-cruise. Took him 15 minutes for about €30 compared to us waiting days to get a proper Volvo one shipped. And a perfect replacement.

Now cleaning the bilge of the tank of diesel we lost from the original leak - not a great way to start a holiday....
