I'm looking for a good supplier for G10 (1/4" thick) apart from McMaster. Anyone have any recommendations?

Depending on what you're trying to do, you might check eBay. Lots of sellers have offcuts in random sizes, some will cut to size. I've bought G10 on there for quite a bit less money than a typical supplier.

I’ve purchased from Professional Plastics. More variety than McMaster but no bargains unless they still offer boxes of random cut-offs.

Yup

And fiberglass sheet works as a substitute for many g10 applications

Small g10 pieces can be bought off amazon
^^ This. G10 is overkill for 90% of uses. It's become an internet meme.Nearly any prelam fiberglass sheet is as strong as the fiberglass in the hull. Unless you are threading in a stud you don't need it.

The structural fiberglass sheet from McMaster is very good quality and is much cheaper.

bit of a scrap hull can even be a power boat hull
if not chopper gun junk

take a battery power tool to a dump if they let you in
or look for a roadside abandoned boat
or a hacksaw
remember mask for all glass cuts plus other gear
