small rant.

have you ever looked up the lyrics to a song and discovered that they've been rewritten by the internet.

someone gets it wrong and it gets c&ped over and over until ...... it's gone

In the  a tiny piece of coloured glass my love was born
And reds and golds and yellows were the colours in the dawn.
Night brought on its purple cloak of velvet to the sky
And the girls were willing spinning gulls were wheeling spinning on Jersey Thursday.
In the tiny piece of coloured glass my love was born
And reds and golds and yellows were the colours in the dawn.
Night brought on its purple cloak of velvet to the sky
And the girls go willing spinning on Jersey Thursday.

I might be wrong, but I suspect it's the gulls that  were wheeling and spinning on Jersey Thursday.

a beautiful little song

I still say it's purple lover, not turbo lover.  Prove me wrong.

Rob Halford to the white courtesy phone please.

I believe the technical term for that is a mondegreen.  Which is itself a mondegreen of “layd him on the green” misheard as “Lady Mondegreen”.

And that’s your etymology lesson for the day!

An ex was sure it was “a part of me is just erect” instead of “a part of me has just been wrecked” from “Centerfold”. She had many others but that one got the most chuckles.

Of course she also thought the shores of northern Michigan looked quite uninhibited the first time I took her on a cruise up there. Not the sharpest, and a teacher to boot. Ah well.
