Getting tough with the anti-vaxxers

My university, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, just joined many others in requiring students to be fully vaccinated to be on campus this Fall. Yesterday's news had video of a packed Foo Fighters concert in NYC where everyone had to be fully vaccinated. Israel has a "passport", Europe is starting one, Florida and Texas still resisting. Courts confirm hospitals can require full vaccination for their staff. Going to get harder for the covidiots soon. Still no sign of vaccination requirements on airlines, instead when I flew to and from Panama I had to show recent negative covid tests at each airport, nothing required for internal travel, yet.

The same with my son's school, George Washington University.   All students have to be vaccinated. But its not a problem, he and all of his friends and college room mates are already vaccinated. Despite the grumbling by some on these forums , most college kids want to be vaccinated.

They are not making any political statement, my son's friends include Republicans and Democrats.  They understand the vaccine trial results and want to be safe and have a safe campus with social activities and sports without masks.

Not forcing anything, just requiring it if you want to participate in various activities, like being on campus, going to class, having parties, etc. Hospitals are a little different, there forcing is simply sensible. EUA will soon be a thing of the past anyway.

Im no legal expert but I observe that COVID-19 tests are approved under the same FDA emergency authorization and have been required by various places including colleges all year without issue. Federal agencies, including the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, permit employers to require their employees get a COVID-19 vaccine.

I was afraid because I have asthma and my husband, the thin runner, has had DVTs and other clots.  

Then I got mad.  

Then I got vaccinated and stopped being afraid.  

But I stayed mad. Alternative facts make me really mad.

The relatively few places that mandate vaccinations make the news, but most of us have no idea of the vaccine policies of hospitals and other medical facilities, dentists etc, nor the vaccination status of their employees that we come into close physical contact with.
