It was Holland designed 2-tonner as well. Probably rates PHRF somewhere in the high 70s?meade and jan gougeon (gougeon boat works and west system epoxy of bay city mi.) built her. forget who owns her now, though. help this helps.

And another: The tactician for the Canada's Cup match (that Dazy won) was the Australian John Bertrand. He was working for North in Pewaukee at the time.Trivial factoid - the boat gave her name to the Dazy staysail, a much smaller and slimmer high-aspect spin staysail that actually worked. Pretty well all spin staysails to this day are based on this model.

Here is what the story from above says: "Anne says that they plan to keep Dazy at Salem Harbor this summer, but hope to eventually moor her in Portland, Maine, where “her nice deep seven-foot keel will be very happy in those waters.” With Portland an hour and a half away from their home in Ipswich, they are looking forward to exploring the Maine waters and are comfortable with the idea of sailing her by themselves."I sailed on the boat with the Hill family for over 10 years on Lake Champlain during the 80's-90'. The boat started out rating of 84 (in the 70's and 80's) and made its way down to 75 as people mentioned above. The boat was still pretty competitive even with the old sails on the boat.
It is a great boat and I have many fond memories, for the ones I can remember as there was a good amount of dipping into the libations at all times on the boat.
Where is the boat now?
Don't you have that hanging in your house, too? Here is what the story from above says: "Anne says that they plan to keep Dazy at Salem Harbor this summer, but hope to eventually moor her in Portland, Maine, where “her nice deep seven-foot keel will be very happy in those waters.†With Portland an hour and a half away from their home in Ipswich, they are looking forward to exploring the Maine waters and are comfortable with the idea of sailing her by themselves."
Here is a link to an artist who did a great painting of the '75 Canada's Cup match. Scroll way over to the right. There used to be one hanging in BYC. http://www.jclary.com/gallery_frameset_new-gl1.html
