Good Luck With That Rudy

Your last 2 words reminded me of a boat we raced against, way back in the 80s.

A J-29, painted gray, named "Brain Damage".  We referred to it as you just did.
Ha, I remember racing against Dain Bramage, but we never called it Rudy.

One year, we traveled up to Atlantic City for their Race Week.  Boats were docked at Trump Castle Marina (pretty sure that was the name).

The gray one was there.  I remember someone got really upset John gave his boat that name.

I drank in the casino, and never spent any money.  So, I have that going for me.

That's what I used to do back in the day when we'd do a port call in Darwin to swap crews. Eat & drink at the casino and you could always get a cab from there back to the wharf. Prices were good to get the suckers through the door.

I never put a single cent through any of their machines et al. Fuck that, better ways to waste my money. I've never ever seen the attraction of gambling and especially so when you KNOW that statistically you cannot win.

About 11 or 12 years ago I was working aboard a university research vessel that would dock at Trump's Atlantic City Casino Marina when doing fisheries survey work for the NJ DEP. Being a 95' ocean going stern trawler, we docked at the outside dock, the only stretch that could handle a vessel our size or larger. Never saw another vessel on that outside dock. That entire end had the thickest layer of seagull shit I have ever seen. Easily an inch. Couldn't get off the dock without walking through it, and had to be real careful not to slip and fall. No way a mega yacht would dock there, rich people aren't going to step in that. The casino itself was musty and dingy. Never saw more than a few people inside. We would walk through the casino and out to the street to take the short walk to Harrods. Harrods had good air and reasonably bright lighting, you know, pleasant inside. Good restaurants too. Also lots of people. You can all guess which one went bankrupt (twice) and which one was making a profit.

Absolutely baffles me that anyone could think TFG is/was a good businessman when he couldn't even figure out how to run a casino profitably.

“The casino itself was musty and dingy.”

So was the owner.

Let's not forget independently minded Americans who believe we need common sense control over the sale and distribution of guns.  This isn't just a R vs. D issue.
But the bans and confiscation programs on things like battlefield .22's are all about the sale (bans) and distribution (confiscation programs) of guns. Not sure what kind of "common sense" control you're talking about?

You mean like in New York, where cops get to decide who can own a gun (white and rich) and who gets stopped and frisked and then tagged for life with a violent felony for mere possession (poor and minority)? That kind of common sense?

Rudy has always been a douchebag.  He was loathed in NY and if not for his image refurbishment after 9/11 he’d have been thrown out of office.
FBI SA Pistone just lost some serious credibility.  Last night I read his praise of TFG for being able to pick great leaders in his organization.

I know the FBI has a lot of white wing nuts but to praise TFG for his ability to pick good leaders?  Okay, it was 2007 but anyone who knew anything about TFG back then knew who he really was.

I'm surprised he didn't say he had the evidence in his underwear.

None of this matters because these old white folks will never be prosecuted, no trials will be held, no judges and juries will ever convict,  and there will be no punishment.
