I remember there was a boat in this race with a bi-plane rig but can't remember its name or designer.  I have not been able to find anything out searching the net so putting it out there....... 

Can anyone help me out with this or just have a list of entries as that may nudge my memory. I remember taking a trip to see the boats at the wharf in Darling Harbour a day or so before the start  but that was a while back and at the time I was more interested in Steinlarger's wing mast than anytning else.

Any info would be appreciated.

I followed the race pretty enthusiastically but I don’t remember anything about a biplane rigged boat doing it.

If my memory serves me right I don't think it got far. May of even dropped out on the first leg.

Your not thinking of Shotover (I think that was the name ?)   a fortyish' cat by Loch with 2 masts  on the centre line.

It was around at the time afaik,  but whether it was entered....?

Shotover II was sitting in Mullet Creek, opposite Wondabyne Station, Hawkesbury. Looked very forlorn 18 months ago .

Shotover 2 was designed and built by Adrian Rogers the former owner of Shotover. It was schooner rigged and super fast. It actually won line honours in Brisbane to Gladstone race even though it dropped one of the rigs about halfway through the race! She didn’t do the around Oz race.
